As part of our science work, investigating evolution and adaptation, Year 6 visited the Natural History Museum today and watched the brilliant ‘Variety Show’! We explored the huge variety visible in the natural world around us and learnt how scientists identify and classify living things.
We then explored the exhibits – particularly the incredible fossils of Ichthyosaurs and Plesiosaurs. We have been reading extracts from Jules Verne’s brilliant ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth‘ and these ferocious creatures appear in the flesh in one dramatic scene! It was great to see their true size and amazing features up close!
