Signs of Spring – Exploring Hampstead Heath!

Year 1 went onto Hampstead Heath to look for signs of spring.

We looked for buds and shots. We learnt that the leaves on a Hawthorn bush indicate spring is here. As do dandelion and bluebell flowers!

Next, we thought about other signs of spring… we listened, smelt and touched the natural environment. 

The following day we went out to Montpellier park to write spring poems. Then we shared them with each other!

We are really excited about spring… although now we need to think about the signs of summer!!
