“You look awful!” Bob said, examining Jim’s wings.
“I got chased by some humans,” Jim said, panting.
“What did I tell you!”
“But the light was so bright!”
That night, the Fly Council came together to discuss the problem.
The flies didn’t know much, but they knew one thing: they were in a huge crisis.
Sadly, chief fly MMXIII (2,013) suffered a terrible heart attack while telling the villagers the plans for world domination.
“He’s been alive for a month, so he was always going to die soon” a village fly said, but was it also the end of the world?….
The light was so bright, it streamed into my eyes and blinded me. The walls seemed to close in and the wind howled “Turn back! Turn back!” I tried to run but my feet were lead so I crawled along the floor, going somewhere but also nowhere. I gave up and fell on the hard surface of nothing. I was trapped inside something that was so close to nothing, a place time had thrown away and forgotten. I helplessly reached to the sky, but it wasn’t there. I sat screaming, screaming into nothing. It was no use to resist, bedtime!
The light was so bright, I fell to my knees momentarily blinded. Dancing shapes passed across my eyes. The dark shape of the ball darted towards my head to the right hand side of the goal. With all my strength, I hurled myself towards it thinking, “You idiot. Why look straight at the main spotlight?” It was over; we had won. The crowds roared like a hungry lion. Coloured flags skirted the pitch like a mane of red and blue. I groped my way to my feet and hoisted the ball above my head like the trophy we were about to receive.
As Angela, Lily and Ryan entered their new home, Mrs Maiya took them to the living room and switched on the light. The light was so bright because in the orphanage the light had been so dim.”That is so bright,”groaned Lily as she rubbed her eyes,”Can you put the light lower Angela please?”
”OK,” replied Angela as she turned the switch slowly.
I walked in through the door. It was pitch black. I sensed a weird creepy feeling. I was shivering. I felt my way into the living room. The floor creaked; the wind blew and I needed to blow my nose. Sorry about that interruption. On with the story.
My spine tingled and my hands shook. My feet took me into a table and my knees wobbled. I had forgotten something in my stupidity. I carried on banging my head on various occasions, but that didn’t….
“Happy birthday to you you’re a hundred and two”
“Oww the light was so bright……..”
The light was so bright it hurt my eyes to look at it.
There was a big dark man standing in front of me.
I felt like I’d done something wrong even though I hadn’t. I tried to move but I was chained to the chair.
The room was pitch black; I couldn’t see anything. The man stepped forward. He whispered, “Welcome to MI6.”
“Look” I said, “I didn’t do anything!”
“We will find that out for ourselves” he said.
The dark room made me feel like I’d done wrong; had I?
I guess I was about to find out.
Today was my first photo shoot for a modelling magazine for kids clothing. My mum had signed me up and I was really excited. We got there and I had to get into my modelling clothes straight away, I walked onto the white background, the light was so bright and it took a few minutes to ajust to the light and then I posed. I saw the photos they had taken of me: in some I looked chilled and some were cheesy, but my mum said I looked beautiful in all of them (typical mum thing). It was an exciting day.
The light was so bright
The moths were looking at a light bulb. Then a human came holding a news paper. Watch out said one of the moths but too late he got hit. He fell down half dead. The other moth inspected his wing the injured moth said bring me back to the base. A few minutes later they arrived. A moth said why you didn’t move the moth replied because the light was so bright (moths are attracted to light). One of the moths said let have a war against that human. Let’s call it world war three.
“Why do I have to go to bed?!” I cried
“Because you’ll be too tired to go to football tomorrow,” Mum replied.
“Fine,” I said with a heavy sigh.
I tried to sleep but I just couldn’t: the light was so bright from the moon. I got up, and looked outside and I saw a moon, but not any moon, it looked like a Super Moon. The moon made the sky look like it was morning. I went to my mum’s bed and said “I think it’s time to wake up.”
“Err …what? It’s five in the morning!”
“Oops…” I muttered to myself.
THE END
I twiddled my thumbs impatiently as my minions drilled a circular hole in the back of the city bank. “Oh hurry up would you!” I whispered harshly. They took no notice of me and carried on drilling. Eventually, the circle gave way! Cautiously, I stepped through the hole holding my laughing gas gun tightly in my left hand. Looking around, I saw vaults and vaults full of money beyond my wildest dreams. I turned towards the nearest vault and took out my spy tool, which picks any lock and stuck it into the key hole. The light was so bright. The next thing I heard was “ Put your hands up!”

I was swimming in the salty sea. My fins were pushing me through the water. My white and orange scales gave me a clown fish look. The sea weed and other sea life were below me, some predators and my food. Coral. Then I realized I entered the empty part of the reef. Literally nothing was there. Suddenly I saw a little glow of light. The light was so bright. A submarine whooshed past me. Humans stared at me, examined me, wrote notes about me. I just turned around and raced back to the part of the reef with life.
Glowing green and fire red,
In the dark of the night the rest are dead,
We fly around in the moonshine glow,
Are colourful bodies we do show.
Then after the first of our lovely dance,
A big shine comes and puts us in a trance.
Oh my gosh, that gave me a fright!
That was when the light was so bright.
I had landed at Sydney airport. Once I had unpacked our luggage at the hotel, I spotted a Kangaroo straight away, in the hotel garden. It seemed to be cutting leaves with shears.
As I was talking to my brothers about the gardening Kangaroo, we heard a knock at the door. I opened the door and another Kangaroo said “dry cleaning!”. It was freaky at first but-
The light was so bright! I woke up in the plane. We were still flying. “Damn it”. I looked out of the window to my right, laughing at the thought of butler kangaroos.
The light was so bright
Cars flashed by, figures shouted, buildings scraped the sky.
The city was alive!
Children waved as the cries of joy hovered like a swarm of bees.
Cake shops glowed just like sugar cubes in melting sunlight.
Rustling trees swayed like they had listened to a calming tune,
it was never dark. Some crazy some calm, but had never been so alive!
The city was so light nothing can stop the city from being that bright.
The city was awesome the city was great, there was nothing in the city that you could ever ever hate.
Red and yellow light coming from its back,
watch it flutter away and away,
sit back and relax and enjoy the show,
watch it spread its wings and ascend higher and higher,
The light was so bright it blinded my eyes,
it looks at me and makes me cry,
watch it glow into the smokey-fog,
when it lands on your hand it makes you cry,
The light was so bright I watched it go,
higher and higher it would go,
it swifted side to side,
just watch it fly away and away,
till the light come soon again.
It was summer!
The black darkness had faded away, and no more polar bears came to our house to ask if we were edible. We just had peace and quite like we were relaxing on a flying cloud. That summer was not the same as all the other summers: it was just perfect.
No heat waves, no winters going on for the whole year, just perfect!
THEN……
Clouds started forming gloomy scary skulls in the blue sky, rain poured down like god was crying. And once again an army of black skinned summer killing polar bears stormed towards us! ” Sheesh, again?”
The flies
