Whole School Newsletter Autumn 2025 Week 4
EP Highlights
Well done to all of our KS2 Cross Country Team who together won the ‘Small School Cup’ for Eleanor Palmer - we also came 2nd overall out of all of the Camden Primary Schools!
This week, in our assemblies, we explored the Life Skill of Trust. We discussed what it means to be trustworthy and why trust matters. One important part of that is helping children recognise who they trust — people who will keep them safe, listen with empathy, help them solve problems, and always treat them with respect.
Talking about trusted adults with your child is a great conversation to have. Here are some ideas of what you might say or ask:
- Ask your child: “Who are the adults you feel safe with? Why do you feel safe with them?”
- Explain that trusted adults can be in our family, at school, or in our community — someone they can go to when they have worries.
- Reinforce that it’s always OK to ask for help and to speak up about things that don’t feel right or that are tricky.
Black History Month
This October, we mark Black History Month across the UK. The national theme this year is ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride.’ It celebrates the resilience, strength, creativity and achievements of Black people past and present, and encourages us all to honour heritage.
We will explore significant Black figures in assemblies from both local and national history — people who made changes, whose stories deserve to be known, and whose contributions still inspire us.
As ever, we welcome ideas and guest speakers from our local community- do get in touch if you would like to contribute to our learning in October.
Wick Court - Year 6 Residential
Our first residential of the school year is next week as Year 6 embark on our wonderful Wick Court trip. They will spend the week on a farm, doing everything from collecting eggs, beekeeping to pressing apples. EP’s values are truly embodied by this trip.
As always, today’s newsletter includes some key dates. For everything else, please continue to check the School Calendar
Warm regards,
Natalie and Sally

Autumn Term Reminders and Notes:
Belong to EP - Keep it EP!
Last week we told you that our PTA AGM is set for Thursday 16th October after drop-off at 9am. Please put this in your diary. We hope for another typically great EP turnout and we will update you soon on the agenda. To keep EP thriving, we need new PTA Chairs, a Treasurer and a Secretary to lead our fantastic community events. We’re also seeking Development Committee members to drive forward big fundraising ideas, grants and alumni events.
A reminder about the two big PTA-led school events this term to get involved with:
- Thursday 23 October it’s time to sparkle at our annual EP Disco!
- Friday 5 December 3-5pm we get festive at the Winter Fair. Please come along to our Winter Fair planning meeting after drop off on Friday 10th October.
Free School Meals Entitlement
The Mayor’s universal meals scheme provides free school meals to all children from Reception through Year 6. However, if your family is eligible for ‘Free School Meals’ (FSM), it is still essential to submit a claim — even if your child usually eats a packed lunch.
By registering for FSM your family can get:
- In school: 50% off residential trips, extra discounts, and more learning and enrichment opportunities.
- In holidays: food vouchers, free holiday clubs, and wraparound care.
FSM registration also brings vital additional funding to the school and helps us secure grants and support that bring benefits for every child.
Your family may qualify for FSM if you receive Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Universal Credit, or Child Tax Credit under the income limit.
Please check your eligibility and apply online here: camden.gov.uk/free-school-meals
Just let the office know if you need any help with your application.
