Whole School Newsletter Autumn 2025 Week 2

We’ve come to the end of our first full week and a huge amount of learning has already taken place! EP is in full swing, and your children should already be able to tell you quite a lot about their new topics, as outlined in last week’s class curriculum letters.

We were so pleased to hear about many children across EP taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge run by local libraries during the holiday. Congratulations to Vera, Erin, Helena and Ira in Year 5, and Fiadh and Tomas in Year 3, who were invited to an event with the Mayor of Camden this week in recognition of their fantastic reading. What a wonderful reminder of the love of books at EP!

Continuing the reading theme, next Friday we have a visiting poet, Neal Zetter, who will be running poetry workshops in KS1 and KS2 to inspire the children to share and develop a love of poetry. At the end of the day, his books will be available to buy from the upper playground where the cake sale usually is.

Looking ahead, next week brings our important sessions: Meet the Teacher and Meet the Heads. These half-hour talks are traditionally attended by all parents and provide an opportunity to:

Meet your child’s new teacher.

● Hear about the expectations and learning priorities for the year group.

● At Meet the Heads, learn more about our school ethos, our priorities for the year, and how we can work together to ensure your child has an exceptional primary school experience.

The Meet the Heads session is particularly valuable if you are new to the school, but we warmly encourage all parents to attend. As always, today’s newsletter includes some key dates. For everything else, please continue to check the School Calendar

Warm regards, Natalie and Sally

New Term Reminders:

Playtime snacks at EP have always been simple: a piece of fruit. We’ve decided to extend this to healthy rice cakes or breadsticks, but please absolutely no crisps, pastries or surgary bars. We also want to keep our playground tidy so minimal packaging please!

Some Safeguarding Reminders:

● If you have an appointment during the school day, please always buzz the office before entering the school site then come directly to the school office. It is crucial that we know who is on site and we must not have multiple visitors entering at the same time.

● Teachers need time to settle children in classrooms each morning so their focus is on their class. Please make appointments or talk to class teams after school rather than having extended conversations in the morning.

 Arbor Launch

Look out for a welcome email for Arbor to enable you to access the Parent Portal and Arbor App. This will have your login details and include a link that will take you to the browser version of the Parent Portal where you can set up a password for your account. A reminder that Arbor will replace the EP APP and Scopay, so please use the Arbor platform for all payments and Club EP/Breakfast Club bookings from now on. Please also check your contact details to make sure that everything is up to date.

Trip Contributions

A reminder to families that we request a voluntary contribution to help fund the many wonderful trips and workshops your children enjoy at EP throughout the year. This contribution will appear on Arbor as Trips. While contributions are voluntary, we hope that many families will feel able to offer support. We also understand that parents of children in Years 5 and 6 may be paying for residential trips this term, and that spreading or part-paying contributions across the year may be more manageable for some. Thank you.
