Whole School Newsletter Autumn 2025 Week 11

It’s been another brilliant week of learning and adventure at EP!
Year 4 had a fantastic day exploring the Science Museum’s Wonder Lab, Year 3 loved their Freshwater Theatre workshop, and Year 6 spent an inspiring Citizenship Day learning about public transport safety, money management, fire prevention and civic responsibility. The Primary Maths Challenge this week also saw a record number of Year 5 and 6 pupils taking part - showing true EP love of learning and great resilience in the face of some exceptionally tricky maths challenges. Huge congratulations to all our mathematicians!

This week we’ve been thinking hard about what bullying is - and what it’s not. We’ve talked about how bullying involves an imbalance of power, happens more than once, and is never OK. Everyone at EP has a role to play: we can stand up for others, offer friendship, and tell an adult if something feels wrong. Exploring this image with older children, of different roles we can play within groups was really successful in getting us thinking about how we can be a defender, a changemaker and a force for good!

Our assemblies also reminded us that bullying is behaviour, not identity — no one is a “bully” and no-one consistently plays any of these roles, but everyone can make positive choices. At EP, we take every report seriously, listen carefully, and work with children and families to find solutions.

You can read more in our Anti-Bullying Policy on the school website.
