Whole School Newsletter Autumn 2025 Week 1

Welcome back to all our families and a particular welcome to our new families whom we know will soon feel part of Team EP! There has been a wonderfully positive atmosphere across the school and so much learning happening already. Ask your child what their new topic is - class curriculum letters attached below- and what their highlight of the week was? Was there anything they were proud of? What made them smile?

This is the first of a new weekly whole school newsletter to keep you up to date and in touch with some of the most interesting things happening across the school. Today we’ve included some important dates and thereafter, please check the School Calendar

This week we’ve focused on the phrase ‘show me ready’, linked to our 3 rules: ready, respectful and safe. For families at home, you can help your child to feel confident and ready by doing small things like checking the weather when choosing clothes, getting back into a routine of reading each day, filling those water bottles, getting to school for our 8:45am soft start and prioritising a good night’s sleep. We know these habits can be hard after the long break so we’ll support you at school by encouraging the children with these things too. We’re looking forward to the Autumn Term and to your children achieving excellence, loving learning and developing a sense of belonging to EP.

Coming up next week

Monday

● Year 2 Camden Reading Festival at Argyle Primary School

Tuesday

● 3:30-4:30pm Junior Football Team trials

Wednesday

● Year 3 Freshwater Theatre workshop

Thursday

● Year 5 Thames river exploration

New term reminders:

● Term dates are on the website. With such good notice of dates, there shouldn’t be any accidental holiday bookings… we want to continue our amazing attendance record - often top in Camden!

● We are a water only school: both in school and on trips. Every child should have a named water-bottle to be taken home each day to be refreshed. A firm no to sugary flavoured waters. We also allow Junior children to bring in a healthy snack to have at break time.

● Scooters and bikes must be parked tidily behind Years 5 and 6. This area is a fire evacuation route so it is essential that it is kept clear and tidy - in the event of a real fire this could cause an accident and a delay. If any bikes and scooters are left overnight (and often for days) we cannot take responsibility for their disappearance.

● No toys allowed during the school day please.

● We don’t allow any jewellery, other than simple stud earrings. Please ensure that long hair is tied up - it helps focus in class and helps prevent the spread of nits.

● We are moving to a new pupil platform called Arbor, which will allow parents to see bookings, make payments and update information. Look out of an email coming soon to sign up for the Arbor App. It is very user friendly and we hope it will transform the previous clunky Scopay and App systems!

Some safeguarding reminders:

Dropping off and collecting children within the school day - please come directly to the school office and do not go to your child’s classroom. It is essential that we know who is on site for safeguarding reasons, including adults, and we need you to sign in and sign out during the school day.

● If you need to come in to drop off key messages, items or forgotten lunches, please do this at the office.

● If your child is in school and expected at Club EP or an afterschool sports club, please let us know if they are not attending. We of course understand that plans change, but you must notify us as their absence will be of concern until we can locate them.

● Please inform the school office by 9am if your child will not be attending school. A phone call is best where possible.
