Keeping it EP this week
As we end the term, the atmosphere in school is wonderful! So much to celebrate from symphonies written based on Year 5 art work, to medals and shields awarded for exceptional sporting achievements. Here we all are in Coach Martin’s Feat of Strength, all pulling together as usual! We hope you are enjoying all the beautiful work coming home with your children and that you celebrate their effort and enjoyment with them.
Congratulations go to Sebby for winning the extremely special Kaylen Dennis Sports’ Day Shield, George and Maya for the Sports Superstar Shield; and Rawan and Blake for Sporting Effort 2026.
And to our Maths Award winners, Ada for maths achievement and to Nadine for progress.
Camden schools have created wonderful art work for the Camden Biennale curated by Central St Martin’s College. Our Year 1 and Reception classes, Yasin (Year 2), Archie (Year 4), Lockie (Year 5) have work selected to be exhibited in a real gallery, with Year 1’s We Love London work also chosen on an outside installation by the fountains in Granary Square. This exhibition is on until the end of next week, so please do visit!
Something that is part of the culture at EP is excellent attendance and so we often don’t mention just how exceptional it is and how this translates not just into high learning outcomes (the more you’re in school the more you can learn!), but also to a lifetime habit of joining in, showing up and trying your best! Eleanor Palmer’s attendance is 96%, significantly higher than London and National averages and sitting among the top few schools in Camden. We have so many pupils achieving the good to excellent range of 97-100% attendance and we thank you as parents for supporting your children in this. We hope that this excellent attendance at EP will continue in September and look forward to seeing you on the first day of school - Wednesday 2nd September. The Year 3 children will feel particularly grown up being dropped off outside the junior building - they are ready for this next big step!
We also hope the Year 6 class of ‘26 will come back to say ‘Hello Miss’ on their way to and from their new secondary schools! Do come back and visit us, there will be a warm welcome back at EP, you will always belong here.
We celebrate how children can look after their bodies and minds, staying healthy and slowing down when this is needed - how the children coped in the recent hot weather is testament to this too. We hope that you and your children will be able to find a slower pace in the summer, spend time in nature and connect with one another.
