We are looking for two dedicated, inspiring teachers to join our teams at Hawley Primary School and Eleanor Palmer Primary School. The successful candidates will share our values and ethos, our passion for primary teaching, and our commitment to provide the best possible education for every child in our community. This is an exciting time as we build our partnership across our two one-form entry schools - we will be appointing one teacher in each school.

 

Our schools are built on collaboration and innovation, with a drive to make teaching and learning exceptional. At Hawley, we have a newly constructed, light-filled building in the heart of Camden while at Eleanor Palmer, children benefit from a science lab, and thoughtfully designed outside spaces. Both schools provide unique and inspiring spaces in which adults and children share a love of learning and a strong sense of belonging.

 

Each of our schools benefits from a curriculum shaped over years of experience and expertise, and based on a principle of making deep connections across subjects to spark curiosity and excitement. Learning comes to life through the strengths of our dedicated staff, who are driven to improve children’s lives through education. You would be joining a reflective teaching team that is committed to continual learning. We offer high-quality professional development within our partnership, and through our well-established links with local and national networks, including our lead role in Camden’s Primary Maths Hub.

 

At both schools, we have:

  • - a socially and ethnically diverse inclusive school community in which no child is left behind and children are excited to learn;
  • - a commitment to developing Oracy across the curriculum, from Nursery to Year 6 and beyond.

  • - very good public transport links moments away - Northern Line, Thameslink and Overground stations.

Specific skills, experiences and qualities we are looking for are as follows:

 

  • - A recognised qualification to teach and very high standards of written and spoken English, and mathematics;

  • - Teaching experience in EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2;

  • - The ambition to become the best teacher you can be and to continue to learn;

  • - A passion to narrow inequalities and challenge systemic disadvantage in our diverse community;

  • - Excellent classroom organisation and positive behaviour management skills, with a shared ethos for fostering wellbeing and positive behaviour;

  • - A commitment to and understanding of our teaching and learning approach;

  • - Proven ability to design sequences of learning with clarity and creativity, making links between subjects and providing enrichment opportunities;

  • - A commitment to equality of opportunity in all aspects of a school’s life and work;

  • - Very high expectations of all pupils, of the quality of their learning and their outcomes;

  • - The ability to inspire colleagues and pupils and to make learning enjoyable;

  • - A commitment to the school as a community beyond the classroom;

  • - The ability to create high-quality displays of and for learning, and a purposeful, calm learning environment;

  • - Thriving on working collaboratively as well as independently;

  • - Dedication to building constructive, trusting relationships with the teaching team, parents, families and governors;

  • - A resilient and a reflective approach to improving your own teaching practice that is research-informed; and

  • - A capacity for hard work and to embrace the challenges and opportunities of working in a small, dynamic team.
