Learning Support Assistants for September 2025
Term-time only (39 weeks a year)
We are looking for two learning support assistants to join our dedicated, happy team, supporting all aspects of children’s learning. Prior experience supporting children with learning barriers and additional needs, or experience in play work or youth work would be excellent for this role, but is not essential as we have an experienced, stable team to develop the right candidates.
This is a one year fixed term, term-time only post, with the salary pro rata to the number of weeks worked in a year and the number of hours worked in a week (between 25 and 32.5). Full time equivalent salary is based on NJC APT & C Scale 3, spine points 5-6 - £30,120 - £30,552, depending on prior experience.
At Eleanor Palmer we actively look for a diverse staff team and value the diversity of thought, insights, innovation and creativity that this brings to our learning community and to our pupils. We are committed to our anti-racist strategy, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone wants to work, remain and progress, irrespective of race, gender, disability or religion.
At Eleanor Palmer, we have:
- a commitment to staff training and career development, and a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning;
- a socially and ethnically diverse inclusive school community in which no child is left behind and children are excited to learn;
- a collaborative team in which all voices are heard and there are high levels of trust;
- an exceptional sports and life-skills curriculum with a dedicated sports coach;
- a calming sensory space and plans to further develop our spaces;
- a focus on developing oracy, language and communication across the curriculum, from Nursery to Year 6 and beyond.
- a financial commitment to enrichment, including specialist art and music teachers, and a wide variety of trips and residentials;
- well established partnerships and professional development links: Camden Learning, the IOE, NCETM. Eleanor Palmer is an Associate School in the EEF North London Alliance Research School.
- an engaged whole school community with lots of traditions and special events; and
- very good public transport links moments away - Northern Line, Thameslink and Overground stations.
Weekly hours will be negotiable for this post, with hours flexible although there is an expectation of work each day. There will also be opportunities for working at our in-house breakfast and after school clubs too, should candidates be interested in this.
