Meeting the amazing Florence Nightingale

We visited the Florence Nightingale Museum at St Thomas’s Hospital! Our guide was Florence Nightingale herself and she told us all about her life and work transforming nursing. We explored the museum which had lots of her belongings like her famous lamp, medicine chest and her beloved pet owl, Athena.

The following day we came into school and discovered our classroom had turned into Scutari Hospital during the Crimean War! We worked hard like Florence Nightingale and her nurses to clean it up. This helped us prepare to write a diary entry as Florence herself.
