On Thursday the classroom was transported back to Egypt in the year 1922…

In small teams of brave explorers led by Howard Carter each made their own journey deep into the newly exposed tomb in the Valley of the Kings.

The tunnel was dark, hot and small  – with only a small torch to see the way what would they be able to find….

…The discovery was amazing – they finally found Tutankhamen’s untouched tomb – preserved as beautifully as the day it was sealed!

Carter couldn’t wait to write all about the find in his diary!
