Year 6 have had a fascinating time at the Imperial War Museum! We had a jam-packed day – starting with a hands-on workshop in the Wartime Family exhibition. We traced a real family and how their lives were impacted by the war, particularly the Blitz, before coming up with our own historical questions to research.
After this we explored the rest of the museum. We had a close-up look at an amazing Lancaster Bomber and learnt about the invention of the terrifying V1 and V2 bombs. We will be discovering all about evacuation and the Blitz later this week, which will inspire our creative writing….so watch this space!
