Year 6 had the most fantastic time yesterday, visiting the Houses of Parliament and finding out about the history and daily workings of Westminster, as part of our work on democracy. We went on a tour of the House of Commons and the House of Lords – did you know you’re not allowed to sit down in a seat there if you are only a visitor? We even went into the Queen’s dressing-room and saw the footstool that Queen Victoria used to use because she was only 4 foot 11″! Year 6 asked so many insightful questions – I think we have some politicians in the making!
