Year 4 spent the morning at the wonderful Faraday Museum, housed at the Royal Institution, where Michael Faraday conducted many of his ground-breaking experiments. We got to see some of his actual equipment and a replica of his laboratory, as well as learning a lot about the developments in our understanding of electricity that he helped to bring about. Back at school, we are going to write biographies of this incredible scientist.
We also had the opportunity to test out the amazing acoustics in the lecture theatre, the same one where Faraday gave his famous Christmas Lectures. It has a very clever design which means that is you stand in a certain spot, then your voice is carried everywhere in the room – even behind you!
