Year 3 had a fantastic time at the Foundling Museum on Friday. They learnt all about children who were abandoned on the streets who were taken in by the Foundling Hospital. They saw how the children lived and what skills they were taught to be able to work in the Victorian times. Girls became servants, while boys became soldiers and (for a very few children) sailors. They also learnt about the harsh realities of there being more children in need than places available. All Y3 children were given raffle tickets, with three being chosen, representing three mothers whose children were accepted into the Hospital.
