Year 3 had an amazing immersive Victorian school workshop on Tuesday. We discovered more about how and what Victorian children were taught – most of us weren’t fans of their pedagogy! Master Grey was our fearsome school master and didn’t take kindly to any noise in the class or girls and boys mixing at playtime! Later in the afternoon, we explored a range of historical sources including stereoscopes, zoetropes and photo albums. I was very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and questions during the day.
