A highlight of the spring term was the Year 1 trip up the Shard!
The Shard is the tallest building in London – in fact the tallest building in Western Europe!
The Shard is 306 metres tall! Eleanor Palmer is only 3 meters high!!
We took two lifts to reach the viewing platform. The lift speed is 6 metres per second – and our ears popped!
The Shard is made up of 11,000 glass panels on its exterior – and we saw the window cleaners!! Apparently, their job is never done – as soon as they have cleaned from top to bottom they start all over again! They were very brave!
We drew the London skyline – some of our illustrations are in the entrance hall!
We learnt all about a fox that lived at the top of the Shard – and when we returned to school we wrote a story about him!
