On Wednesday something quite strange but wonderful happened in Year 1…

We were transported back in time to 1922 to help Howard Carter with his archeological dig in Egypt!

Being brave and adventurous children each of us had a turn to explore the tomb!

We found many treasures like jewels, vases, statues and even flowers preserved for 3000 years!

In the final chamber we finally found the beautiful sarcophagus and death mask of the famous boy king, Tutankhamen!

Almost as quickly as it appeared the magical time travelling tomb was gone, only the children could remember it had happened. Each one writing a diary to prove to the adults it really did happen…
