Today, Year 6 created some powerful drama pieces about the British public’s reaction to the outbreak of war in 1939. After learning some of the reasons why WWII began, we used visual stimuli to create some family scenes crowded around the wireless listening to Neville Chamberlain’s speech revealing that Britain was going to war with Germany. The children created some really thoughtful and interesting scenes and it was a good chance to explore the characters we will write about in our diary entries next week.
