Today we had a wonderful trip to the Camden Archives. The staff had arranged so many historical sources all about our local area during the Victorian times. We learnt all about Euston, Kings Cross and Camden town and saw images of them being built. We also researched Tufnell Park on an OS map from 1861 – Eleanor Palmer wasn’t here then – it was just a field! We looked at images of businesses from Kentish Town during the Victorian times and even recognised some! The children loved researching about Charles Dickens too. It’s got us very excited for the next few weeks when we start to study him and his work!
