We had a wonderful day at the National Portrait Gallery. We went to have a look at the portraits of the kings and queens to get inspiration for our own royal portraits. We noticed lots of gold and red in the Tudor portraits and we loved the elaborate frames. We had a go at drawing our favourite portraits, most of us liked the painting of Queen Elizabeth I the best. We had a quick peak in the 20th century gallery to have a look at the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. After a wonderful morning of culture, we enjoyed our packed lunch in Trafalgar Square, being careful not to lose our lunch to the seagulls! After a quick photo with the famous lions, we headed back to school on the tube. A big thanks to all my fantastic volunteers, we could not have done it without you.
