As part of our whole-school art focus, we have been learning about Matisse and preparing to create our own interpretations of his beautiful ‘Odalisque in Red Jacket’ portrait.

So far we have explored Matisse’s use of the colour-wheel to find complementary shades and made our own. We also created fluid Matisse-style faces – trying to use as few strokes as possible!
