Year 3 went on a really interesting and moving trip today, to see an exhibition of handkerchiefs made by Japanese children. The children made them in response to surviving a huge tsunami. They wanted to sell the handkerchiefs to raise money to rebuild their school and community. Year 3 were so touched by hearing this and they wrote their own messages of hope and encouragement too. We will write to the children affected when we are back in class. We are also going to make our own silk painted handkerchiefs to raise awareness about these children and their community.
