Year 3 have been doing some carousel days looking at the Hindu religion in more detail. So far, we have made Hindu God statues with Kally, located the countries where Hinduism is practised among many of the population (India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) and today we focused more on the Diwali festival. The children learnt the story of Rama and Sita, and made some wonderful Rangoli patterns, which would traditionally be placed on walls and doorsteps as a decoration. Have a look at some of the ones they designed in their maths books. There are also some bigger ones which we made using different coloured powder paints.
