We had a great day at Hampton Court Palace. We explored the palace and its gardens and didn’t let the rain get us down. We spotted so many references to Henry VIII and saw him depicted in paintings, collages and even wicker! Lots of people were dressed up as historical characters and some of us got our photo taken with Sir Walter Raleigh! We used mirrors to explore images in the design of the ceilings and were taken aback by an enormous fireplace. One of the funniest things we saw was a Tudor toilet with a velvet seat! At the end of the trip we had fun collecting conkers. The tricky thing was finding places to stow them on the coach…
