This term we were so inspired by the incredible architecture of the Ancient Romans that we decided to try our own hands at it. We therefore thought it would be a great idea to design and build our very own (miniature) Roman aqueducts! In this lesson we were experimenting with the strength of art straws, considering how could we join them together to build a strong structure that could transport water from one destination to another. It was so exciting to see the children using their knowledge of shapes and structure to build square based and triangular based pyramids that would then be the basis for their aqueduct designs.
