As part of our topic ‘Am I an Animal?’ Year 1 have been learning all about Fish!

Mrs Yaffe brought a variety of fish from the fishmongers. We spent some time observing the fish – looking at the patterns, colours and textures.

First, we did a chalk and charcoal illustration. These were observational drawings – we looked closely at what we were drawing.

Next, we did a painting – using colour mixing. This was a more imaginative interpretation of the fish.

Miss Cummings has also done some fish prints with us!
