We’re thrilled that photographer Ben Osborne will be visiting us on Thursday 16th March to talk to Year 2, returning again at 7pm to talk to older children and families.
As part of their Planet Earth topic, Year 2 have been finding out all about the polar regions this term and Ben will talk to us about his time in the Antarctic, as well as his experiences working with David Attenborough and the BBC on ‘Life in the Freezer’, ‘Planet Earth’ and ‘Blue Planet’.
Our excitement has been increased by this special video Ben has sent us from Antarctica!
Ben has been a wildlife photographer for 30 years and has an Honorary Fellowship to the Royal Photographic Society. With two zoology degrees, Ben worked initially as a scientist and spent 18 months working for the British Antarctic Survey on Bird Island (South Georgia) researching wandering albatrosses and monitoring mammal populations. He has worked for National Geographic and has photographed all seven continents.
Do try to come along on Thursday 16th, it should be a fascinating and informative evening!
