You have all been reading lots over the summer break so it would be great to share our top tips with each other! This is the place to share books, give each other advice and recommendations!
Let’s get a book conversation going, but remember…NO SPOILERS!
I read the Hunger Games and I would recommend it to people who like action, blood, love/cheating and all round horribleness!
P.S GALE IS AMAZING
I also read Bear Grylls’ ‘Mud, Sweat and Tears’ which is Bear Grylls’ autobiography and ‘Percy Jackson and the Greek Heroes’ which is the new book and is short stories of Greek heroes and gods/godesses/demigods.
I read Mixed Up Files and it is great! It’s about a girl who doesn’t like her home, so she makes a plan to……….
The book I am reading now is called Eldest, it is in a series of four. The first book of the series is called Eragon, the second one is called Eldest, the third is called Brisingr and the fourth is Inheritance. It is about dragons and magic but it makes sense, for example: the further away you are the more energy it takes and dragons can only shoot fire at about 6 months old. BUT they are very long for example Eldest is 999 pages. Altogether this series is brilliant!
999 pages? My copy only has 668 pages. Maybe your book is smaller and has bigger writing. Anyway, I do agree with you that it is an amazing series. My favourite book is Inheritence. It is such a cool book!
I have just finished reading a book called Mean Streets by Graham Marks. It is a series of 4. It is about a detective who tracks down thieves and outlaws. You should read this book if you like detective stories. It is about 230 pages. It is a brilliant book to read.
This summer I read lots of books, my favourite one was the Mystery of the Clockwork Sparrow by Katharine Woodline. It’s a great book about crime and adventure. If you decide to read this book the first two or three chapters might seem boring but then it turns into a big thriller. It’s an AMAZING book with lots of exciting cliffhangers and code crackers. I enjoyed all the action that was in the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read mystery and action books. I really loved it and I think you guys will too.
I read lots of books this summer, but one of favourites was “The Mysterious Incident of the Dog in the Night time” by Mark Haddon. The main character is called Christopher, he has behavioural difficulties. The book starts when Christopher goes for one of his midnight walks along the street, when he comes back he sees the most extra-ordinary thing, in Mrs. Shears’ (his neighbour’s) front garden her dog is lying on the lawn, having been stabbed by a gardening fork. Christopher starts to investigate this mysterious incident, but his dad tries to stop him. Will he find out who killed the dog?
This summer i have also read: Pluto & Shingaling by R.J. Palacio, the sequel books to Wonder, but these weren’t nearly as good as Wonder, which was a great read.
“The Secrets of Sam & Sam” by Susie Day, which was a thrilling book and it was about the year 6 school trip to treetops where they have the death slide of doom, but Sam2 is afraid of heights so they work out a plan….
The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan
I have started the second series and it’s just as good as the first
If you like adventure, not too gory chases and fights and a little bit of romance these are the books for you. There gripping and leave you on cliff hangers.

I read a marvellous book called Artimis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. I enjoyed this book because I love adventurous and funny morals. Its about a 12 year old boy named Artimis who’s an evil mastermind with a butler named Butler.I think you will like this book if you like brain-busting adventures.
This summer I read a book called Little Darlings. The book is about 2 girls, one of them is rich because her dad is famous the other girl is poor and they think they might be sisters. I enjoyed about this book when at the end……….I would recommend this book to any one that loves drama because it is dramatic at certain points of the story.
My book is Neil Flambe and the Marco Polo Murders. It is about a chef called Neil Flambe who has an amazing sense of smell. He is a brilliant chef because he knows exactly what he has to add at exactly the right time to make the best dish. He is also friends with the police because he can smell pretty much anything. Then, when certain famous chefs start dying from a mysterious cause and the bodies are still smiling, the question is: can Neil figure out what is going on before it’s too late and he becomes the prime target?
I really liked this book even though it’s a bit morbid because it has lots of cliff-hangers and loose ends which get resolved near the end. All in all, it is an AWESOME book and is really good to curl up with anywhere.
Book Title: I am Pusheen the Cat

Diary of the Wimpy Kid – The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney
It’s about a family who go on a road trip and end up nearly being shot, a pig in the car and much more !!!!!
The Heffley’s are not an
ordinary family!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed this book because it’s funny and there is always something that goes wrong!!! I would recommend it to anyone who likes comics and is looking for a light read!
I’m reading all the David Walliam’s books. My mum read them to me as they came out, but they are so good and funny that I wanted to read them myself – I’m sure that most of the class has already read them, but if you haven’t, they are a MUST read!
I am also reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on the kindle app on my iPad at home. I think the books are better than the film as they have more detail. You get to know more of the characters and much more about the different spells and potions.
I read the whole series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kenny I think it’s a great book if you like comedy stories.
I loved reading Tom Gates Absolutely Fantastic.
It’s about an ordinary boy called Tom Gates who goes camping with school and does lots of activities. I enjoyed pages no.237 to no.243, but I wont spoil it(read for yourself!). I would recommend this book because it is funny and it is a real page turner.
My book is Murder Most Unladylike. It is about a girl called Hazel who is from Hong Kong then she moves to a girls boarding school. Hazel meets a girl called Daisy and they become best friends. Then one day, the girls find something extremely shocking and they try to solve it before the police do!!!
This summer I read Ronaldo. Ronaldo is one of football’s true greats. A three-time winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or. This book includes all the action from 2014/15 campaign where he won the European Golden Shoe for the fourth time. I would recommend this book to Maceo.
Ronia the Robbers Daughter by Astrid Lindgreen
When Ronia befriends her fathers, enemies, son, it’s a whole new world for both of them. The only way to keep their friendship is to do something drastic like running away. Soon they are both fending in the woods for themselves but how will they survive the wild harpies and other mysterious creatures and beasts.
‘The Northen Lights’ By PHILIP PULLMAN:
This book is about a child named Lorna. She lives in a different universe to ours; in HER Oxford. She doesn’t know that there are other universes yet, but another thing she doesn’t know about is the huge adventure she is about to be dragged into…
Personally I LOVE the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo! It is a fabulous story totally impossible to put down! you would like this book if you liked sad, historic, funny books and I recommend it strongly!!!
My book I have been reading and finished over the summer was My Sister the Vampire. It was really good, I enjoyed it! I have started a new book called Bodies, it is very interesting and would recommend it to my friend, it has a lot of interesting facts I didn’t know, really enjoyable book x
I recommend The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole by Sue Townsend. It is about a boy aged 13 3/4 who is troubling with spots, acne, his broken home and secondary school. It has 258 pages. I recommend this to readers who like books about teenage life. So READ READ READ it!!!!!
William, I will read Ronaldo! By the way, the book I am reading is called ‘Alex Rider’, I am reading the first one in the series.
ROOF TOPERS
I read this book over the summer and I think that its AMAZING
(but not as good as the first book) book. The whole idea is about this young girl who loses her mother in a ship crash so she goes looking for her in Paris, as she’s jumping over the roofs of paris can she hear her mums music play. Its by Katherine Rundell. B.T.W Bibi has also read it and she thinks its a great book too.

Any way i really like this book and i really want you guys to read it tooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I REALLY loved the ‘Wonder’ trilogy! It’s about a boy who’s disfigured, and has been home-schooled his whole life, but then………………… This book is one of my favourite trilogies EVER – but I’ve only read three!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is is of the everyday fiction genre.
