Hi there it’s 4:40 pm and I wanted to say how much I loved Egyptian day! I can’t wait until West African day!
I really loved Egypt day it’s probably the best topic day so far !
I’m glad you enjoyed it Lara!
Well done everyone in Year 4 for such a fun topic day – I learned so much about Ancient Egypt and thought they were very lucky to have such delicious food. Thanks to the Hieroglyphics ladies – I am going to sign all my Christmas cards in my ancient Egyptian name now! Nicky
Last Wednesday we had Egyptian day. There were stalls for the parents to participate in, fun games to play and delicious food to eat. I ran the mummification stall where you had to guess which organ went into which Canopic jar. It was for parents to learn what their children have been doing in class. Some people dressed up but I didn’t. Although the biscuit stall didn’t relate to the Egyptian topic, it was almost as popular as my stall! I wonder why?
The step pyramid choclate cake tasted sooooooooo nice.
Last Wednesday,we had a terrific afternoon running the mummification stall and trying Egyptian bread and falafel (they were both so nice). In our stall you have to put the right body part into the right Canopic jars.Only one person got them all right and that was Lara’s mum. Before she started she said “Iām going to just have to guess” and she got it right. She won a certificate and a home made word search. There were more stalls like a quiz, writing your name in highlight, homemade board game, parents acting in front of us kids, decorating biscuits ,falafel and bread .All together it was a great success!
Amy
I agree with Maeve! I loved it too! See you all on Monday.
On Egyptian day our class we did lots of things in our classroom that the Ancient Egyptians did. Different groups of us did different things. My group were cooking tiger nut sweets. They are made out of dates, finely chopped almonds, cinnamon, cardamom powder, chopped walnuts and honey.
The group next to us were doing ancient Egyptian bread. I ate lots of it as well as Oscar, who is Miss Crean’s little boy.
We did this to show the parents what we learned about ancient Egypt. It was important to do this because everybody could learn different things that they did not think they really knew.
On Wednesday the 4th in Year 4 an Egyptian day was held. Ancient Egypt is their topic. In the classroom there were many activities including hieroglyphics-wordsearches, games, decorations, falafels, mummifying games and some more. Lots of parents came to see. The wordsearch is very hard and not many parents completed it,some did but not others.Soon after topic day had ended, everyone was gone, leaving tidying to 3 others.
On 4.12.13 in Year 4 we had a topic day ! It was important because we could teach people about ancient Egypt! Together I , Ava and Amy did mummifying on a fake body !
Last Wednesday (6th December 2013) we had such a fun day being Eygptians! For a change we were the teachers. We taught the parents all about Egypt.
There were lots of stalls in our classroom. Some had food. Some had quizzes. And some had facts!
Kirstine (Asa’s mum) had the best decorated cookie! I couldn’t do it as well!!!!!
WALK LIKE AN EYGPTIAN!!!!
Maddy :):)
Last Wednesday year 4 turned Ancient Egyptian! We split into groups of three and decided to do different activities for the grown ups in our class. There was things like games, word searches, mummifying , biscuit decorating and lots more. It was a great success and lots of parents came.
I really enjoyed the Egyptian day where we all got to dress up in different costumes, and did different activities. My group did a play about Isis and the Cobra but we didn’t do the acting the grown-ups did ( they looked rather silly!). All the grown ups were asking us “what do we do?” and then we said they need to pick a character from the hat.
It was a super day! š
I had so much fun on the topic day.
The best part was that the people came to say what the ingredients were. It was fun on other tables too. š
I really enjoyed our ancient Egyptian day and lots of people learnt how to mummify a person.
I thought your Egyptian day was fabulous I especially enjoyed helping to make the fig balls with Asa, Keifer and Archie- delicious. Julie (Nell’s mum)
Benny, Maeve and I did a pyramid quiz and Maeve made a delicious pyramid cake. If you came and did are pyramid quiz you would have some.
Pfarell, William and I made Egyptian bread for the Egyptian day last week. The parents came to see what kids had done in our year 4 classroom. My sister and mum came and tasted the bread. They loved it!
Year 4 had their Egyptian day on Wednesday 6th December in our classroom. We were split into groups of three and did a little presentation to the grown ups. In our group we did a mini pantomime about the myth called Isis and the cobra. I made a poster that said that you had to do the play otherwise we would feed you to the crocodiles! It was really fun. It was important because the grown ups could learn more about the truly amazing ancient Egyptians!
Well done grown ups, we hope that you were paying attention and learned a lot! Come back again for the next topic day with the awesome Year 4!
It was fun on Eygptian day selling bread with Yeehong Cassady and myself. It was fun and I enjoyed selling bread.
And I loved Eygptian day.
I REALLY ENJOYED IT BECAUSE I HAD LOTS OF BISCUITS AND IF THE ADULTS ENJOYED IT, SO DO I š
Egyptian day was FABULOUS really fun
