What a great afternoon …. very impressed with the creativity of the class with such a great variety of activities. The challenges were tough – I learned new Latin words and Roman numerals. Loved the costumes too. Well done everyone!
Well done Year 4, what a wonderful, inventive and informative Roman day!! Lots of tough challenges like the Roman numeral test and the Roman army quiz!
I thought Roman day was very exciting. It was great to take part in all the activities. I particularly enjoyed trading with the street merchants. I had to haggle as the merchants drove a hard bargain. The honey cake was delicious. It was lovely seeing the whole class so immersed in the world they had created.
What an amazing afternoon. I enjoyed delicious cabbage soup and honey cake and learnt lots of Latin words. My fortune was told and I’m going to live and long but miserable life. The rib of the stork foretold this to Madam Rosalie!
What a fantastic Roman afternoon! Tragically, the fortune teller predicts a dark future unless I am VERY good…
But things looked up when I tasted the honey cake and cracked the Roman numerals test (medium, ahem). Not bad considering I did my maths O level in Roman times!
Thanks Year 4, just brilliant.
Roman numerals were a good brain exercise! I enjoyed the delicious cabbage soup, honey cake and bread, great cooking skills year 4. I met some tricky merchants, i had to barter hard to buy what i needed. I really enjoyed the Latin quizzes, now I know some Latin!
A great Roman afternoon year 4, well done.
What a brilliant set of Roman challenges and games! The food was surprisingly tasty though hard to guess what was in it. The centurions quiz was VERY hard! I think I did a bit better on the numbers. Thank you Year 4 – I learned a lot about the Romans, much more than I once knew but had forgotten – if you see what I mean.
I had a fantastic at Roman day!!! I have learned how to make wine (yummy!); sampled delights such as: cabbage soup, bread and honey cake. I had my fortune told and I am very lucky and have a good future ahead! I opted to do the easy Roman Numerals quiz and it was SOO easy!!
I guessed some of the ingredient in the soup but I didn’t put them in the correct order so only got olive oil correct! The recall quiz was very tricky and I found it hard to remember everything. The bartering was good fun!
Thank you for all your hard work Year 4.
I regret to say I was fleeced by some ruthless tradesmen and women in the forum, who managed to persuade me to pay far too much for their products. Please watch out for Lilianus, Seanimus and Eva – they drive far too hard a bargain. Thankfully I then found some more friendly traders, and was given some delicious honey cake by Ladana and Maggia, and an excellent introduction to doormouse on toast by Brookiana. Thanks Roman EP – it was maximum!
YUMMY CAKE
(but smelly blindfold 🙂 !!!!)
I loved the Roman day! I especially enjoyed tasting the gorgeous wine, bread and soup. I wasn’t very lucky in the fortune telling tent, but I was approved by Caesar for my road building skills together with Honor’s dad, and we will not be thrown to the lion nor cremated!
This is an awesome roman day. so much fun!
Year four Roman day was sooooooo much fun I loved making the Roman food with Evie, it was GREAT!
I loved seeing Elodie get prepared for Roman day and she was so exited that morning. I remember doing exactly what she did and I am so glad she enjoyed it! 🙂
