I loved the part when we produced electricity by joining all the fruits together to get the light to work.
I have got a comment and a question. My question is what is in the fruit that generated electricity? I enjoyed doing the experiment at school and I would like to do it again with different food like peanuts or jelly.
To answer your question, Molly-Rose, the acid in the fruit ( citrus fruit ) generates the electricity that makes the LED light light up. And, if I were correct, how would we do the same thing with peanuts or jelly?… Yet it might work if the jelly was a certain flavour or if the jelly had bits of citrus fruit in it… I like your question and your comment! And yes, it was very fun!
Oh, and also, Molly-Rose, if you wanted to find out more I personally think you should ask Kobi. He’s the one that gave me the facts.
Or…going back to the first post I made, it would probably work even better if the wire was actually touching or going through the citrus fruit in the jelly.
