At the start of Year 3, we voted on the three ‘Rights of the Child’ that we thought were most important.
Article 12 – Every child has the right to say what they think in matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.
Article 2 – The rights apply to every child regardless of their ethnicity, religion, gender, abilities or what kind of family they come from.
Article 28 – Every child had the right to an education.
Of course, we have already agreed that ALL these rights are important, but which of our class rights do you think are the most important and why?
Article 2 because people shouldn’t treat people differently because of their colour or their religion.
Article 12 because children can have really good opinions and ideas and they should be listened to.
You have to be nice to people and look after them. That is important.
you have a right to have a name.
You have the right to learn
I think article two because it is important to be treated in the same way no mater what you look like or believe in. Also it would be silly if people treat each other in the way they look.
You have the right to be heard
I think that the most important article is the right to all be treated in the same way as every one else!
