Hi Year 2,
For your final homework, I’d like you to think about our time together in Year 2. What has been a real highlight for you? This could be a favourite trip, visitor, topic, lesson etc!
I’m looking forward to reading these before you start life in the juniors!
I really like yr2 because we learn lots of facts about minibeast and other information
My favourite topic was Greeks because I didn’t know anything about Greek gods and now I know loads. I liked Athena best because her symbol is an owl and I love owls!
I loved going to The Golden Hinde. There were animals on the mid deck and if you slept on the low deck you would end up with pig poo in your mouth!
I am most proud of my joined up writing.
My favourite thing is science because we always do something fun like when we tried to find out which food the snail liked best. Ours liked the orange best.
The Mill was really good because I like the games we played.
I was upset about the play because I didn’t want to do it, then once I did it it was so much fun!
The first Olympics games were held in776 cb at the Greek city of Olympia .
I remember when we went to the Mill and had a picnic on Leith Hill Tower. My favourite lesson was Maths. My favourite topic was minibeasts.
I LOVED everything about The Mill. It was really fun when the boys went into the girls dormitory and everyone played games!
My favourite topic was minibeasts because we did lots of things outside.
My favourite topic was minibeasts. I liked seeing the catapillars turn into butterflies. I liked the earth worms too. Actually, I enjoyed all the topics!!
I’ve loved everything about Year 2, so it’s hard to choose just a few things. But these are some of my favourites:
I really enjoyed it when we wrote a recipe for a meal for a minibeast. It was fun to make up methods and names and ingredients using things you can find on the ground.
My favourite topic was Minibeasts because I found out so much that I hadn’t known before. The best thing about this topic is that you don’t just learn things from books and teachers. You can learn a lot just by keeping your eyes open in the park or the garden.
My favourite trip was to the Golden Hinde. Even though it was a reproduction, it was just the same as the real ship which was sailed by a famous person and sank a long, long time ago. That felt amazing. It was funny when the people there told us what they did to chicken and apple thieves. We also practised being pirates!
My favourite visitors were the film crew, even though it was a bit annoying that we couldn’t stare at the ceiling (to help me think) when they were there. Oh, and my other favourite visitor was Mummy (because she’s my mummy).
I loved making up our very own show with the people from the Unicorn Theatre.
Thank you Miss Cumming, Terry, Coach Martin and Laura for making this such a great year.
My highlights of the year were the Mill trip, where we toasted marshmallows and I slept on the top bunk. I loved doing Arts, Reading and Swimming lessons. I loved the summer concert and really enjoyed performing and seeing other performers on stage. It was incredible performing at the Unicorn Theatre, as it was about going to the Mill and the actual trip was so awesome!!
I REALLY enjoyed yr2 because we did loads of fun trips like: going to The Mill, The Golden Hinde, The British museum and THE UNICORN. The play we created and acted in was amazing, I loved it and loved performing it for my family, friends and Miss Frood!
Year 2 was also great because I loved quiet choose and all the activities, like science, maths, literacy and art.
I’m going to miss year 2, Miss Cumming and Terry but I’m really looking forward to going into year 3 and the juniors with all my friends. And I can’t wait to start learning cello or violin.
Happy summer everyone!
I have really liked Yr2 because you are the biggest of the infants and you are more grown up and you get to take more responsibility for everything because you have to get ready for the juniors. My favourite topic is minibeasts and my favourite trip was the mill trip
My best topics of the year were ‘mini beasts’ and the Greeks. About half way through year 2, we had to make and serve up a recipe for a mini beast of our choice. I made a stick soup for a woodlouse and the texture was quite like a chicken broth. The pond dipping and the Natural History Museum trips were awesome for that topic. I also loved learning all about Ancient Greece. I really like history and reading all those myths – they are great stories!
The two most exciting and big experiences this year have been the Unicorn project and of course going to The Mill. I can’t believe that I wasn’t afraid of being on the stage. It was actually fun and jittery. It was so fun to be acting out the campfire story and then right after we were actually at the Mill doing it for real. We even sang ‘Minka’ around the real campfire just like in our play. It was good that before we went to the Mill, we had that big talk about it and it made us all feel much better about going away from home.
I really liked how on the day of the great egg race you gave us a quiz on our geography and Kobi’s team won (the prize was a bag of mini eggs!).
I have had a wonderful year and enjoyed so many things and learnt loads and loads of new facts. I am quite sad to be leaving the infants though. Thank you Miss Cumming and Terry and Coach Martin for teaching us this year.
My favourite subject was maths because of all the different methods we learn. I loved our Around the world topic because I love maps. The Mill was AMAZING. I am sad about leaving
year 2
My favorite trip in Year 2 was to The Mill. This was a great adventure and I liked the camp fire the most. In the evening we heated up marsh mallows and I had loads of them (although not as many as Coach Martin). I liked the Greek Myths topic and I enjoyed reading the book I made about this to Year 1 .
I really enjoyed the mini beast topic because I did not know much about it before , now I know lots about it.
My favourite trip was to the Mill because I have never been anywhere overnight with my school and friends. My favourite part at the Mill was the camp fire.
Swimming was fun too in year 2.
I also learnt a lot about the Greeks as I knew absolutely nothing before.
Nancy, Terry, Angela, Pauline and Coach Martin have been fantastic!
My favourite topic was Minibeasts because I learnt a lot that I didn’t know. My favourite trip was when we went to The Mill. My most favourite subject is Maths, Science and Art. I love doing the Maths quiz because you have to do it very quickly in a speical amount of time. Thank you Mrs.Cumming, Terry, and Pauline for helping us.
My favourite topic was mini beasts. And my favourite bug is a spider. My favourite trip was to the london zoo and the best visitor to the school was the bird man. Thank you Miss Cumming, Terry and Pauline for a fantastic year 2!
My favourite bits of Year 2 include the trip to The Mill. I really enjoyed the Mill because it was really exciting to stay overnight without any family for the first time. I loved going on the walk and seeing the tower. I was a bit upset we couldn’t go up the tower but that was probably because it was so old. The view was amazing! I just couldn’t stop looking!
It was funny to see everyone stuck to the “sticky willy” plant stuck to everyone’s clothes. Ha ha. It was fantastic toasting marshmallows on sticks over a camp fire. Mmm yum!
I have also enjoyed all my friends and doing the play at the Unicorn Theatre. It felt wonderful to be on stage and all those friendly eyes watching you.
There are so many things I have really loved about year 2
The Golden Hind, doing X factor with Mabel and my mum nagging us about rehearsals, summer concert with Jack. I missed practising with him for ages after.
But most of all I loved having the kindest teachers I’ve ever had.
The Greek loved their pets ,especially dogs, like most modern societies ,dogs were the most commen pets in Ancient Greece .
