Your 100 Word Challenge this week is to write 100 words exactly (no more, no less) based on the prompt:
…changes…
This prompt is inspired by the start of our new topic, as we have started learning about Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. However, you may interpret the prompt as you wish!
My friends were all changing. They were growing from walking on all fours to standing on hind legs. Now, even my little brother is walking around on hind legs. Then after a long sleep, I woke up feeling tall and smarter. I walked happily to my most changed friends’ hut feeling amazingly confident. When I reached his little shelter I knocked on the woven wall happily. He came to the door with no hair anywhere. He was bald! I laughed hysterically and then he told me that now everyone was ‘bald’. It was true. I was left behind everyone again!
It was Sunday. 9:59am. The marathon. I was lining up at the starting line watching opponents’ faces staring at the track ahead. Ready. My friend Max standing next to me. Focused. My children holding a banner “You can do it Daddy!” Proud. My heart pounding against my rib cage. Nervous.
Klaxon. Feat forward. GO! My field of vision seemed like a blur as the race began. People passed me like angry tornadoes and I passed people like a scared mouse. Then I tripped. The world spun and I hit my head against the floor. NO! Then I heard my 4 year old daughter scream, “Come on Daddy! Get up! Run!” I was determined. I clambered up and sprinted for all it was worth to catch up. I raced to the finish line like a bee to honey. There it was. With one person ahead of me to steal the title. Max. I ran and ran and ran. My legs felt like jelly but I carried on running. I over took Max and won the race. 1 hour 45 minutes 34 seconds. The new world record. I feel different now. I feel like I’ve changed.
Changes are silly things
From spots growing, to spots popping
From life to death
From seeds to flowers
These are all changes!
From candles getting shorter
From children getting taller
To a cake being bitten
These are all changes!
A bin being emptied
A toilet getting flushed
Even a cycle from day to night
These are all changes!
A tower block being built
A light switching on
The mouse on the computer screen moving
These are all changes!
An egg to a chick
A cub to a roaring lion
A tree from a sapling
These are changes!

Evolution is a process that makes animals change, it can make one species split off into two different ones. Evolution happens very slowly and is unnoticeable until after millions of generations
There are two main ways evolution works:
Natural selection.
This is caused by the survival of the fittest. For example, only the fastest deer survive and are not hunted, so deer evolve to be faster.
Sexual selection
This is caused by one mate liking one mate more than another mate. A good example is birds of paradise, they are so beautiful because the females liked the more beautiful males.
Evolution vs creation acrostic.
Evolution claims all that exists was once
Vulnerable to the hands of science and that all
Originated as single-celled organisms,
Living through stages of change over generations
Undergoing mutations and natural selection.
These conclusions were conceived by monkeys?
Include millions of years to the equation
Of which anything can happen.
Now, does that make sense?
vs.
Creation claims all is the work of one Maker, and the
Realization that humans are Earth’s most supreme being.
Everything else, from the moon and the sun, to the
Animals and plants are to be used by us for His favour. All was
Thought out with precision and care by our Creator,
Imagined and designed in a sum of seven days,
Out of nothing, but anything is possible in God’s hands.
Now, does that makes sense?
Who won? you decide.
“Changes”
I still don’t know what I was waiting for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets
and every time I thought I’d got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But I’ve never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
I’m much too fast to take that test
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don’t want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time
“Here it is!”
I scoop up the trading card triumphantly, after searching for what seemed like a decade. But instead of going down to my waiting friends, some impulse told me to stay. Straining under its power, I attempted to pull the door handle… It melted…
“Woah.”
Then suddenly the world started to sway so violently that the next thing I know, my mouth is full of carpet. I begin to retch, except instead of me trying to be sick, it seems like someone is sucking my insides outwards… Then space, time and universe flashed before me as I am tugged viciously to another dimension, a galaxy separate from my own.
THE NEXT DAYS’ NEWSPAPER:
VANISHING DARKNESS
A strange occurrence appeared on earth yesterday, As young boy James R is found engulfed in a strange black substance that scientists have proved comes from not even this universe, space or time. The 14 year old lay drained of a heartbeat for five minutes exactly, before vanishing off the face of the earth. Experts completely fail to explain this supernatural happening, But orthodox religious groups claim that the greater universe is sending the human race a sign, or more likely a warning…
A distress signal following the destruction of earth;
THE DARKNESS IS APPROCHING…
UNIVERSES PREPARE YOURSELVES.
THE CHANGE WILL HAPPEN…
