Birds of prey’s feet are called talons.They use them to kill prey.

The fastest bird is a Peregrine Falcon. Their beaks are curved like a hook.
The Red Kite has been saved from extinction. It is very beautiful with a forked tail. Its head is light grey and it has a red chest with white patches on the wings and black wing tips. It stay with its mate for life. It has a yellow beak with a black hook on the end. It can stay in the air for many hours and hardly beat its wings. Red Kites can live up to 25 years old!
My favourite bird at eagle heights was the barn owl. One thing about barn owls is they are very shy. Barn owls are the softest birds in the world. The person holding the barn owl told us that.
When peregrine falcons hunt they dive down, flying in the direction from the sun so it’s harder for their prey to see them coming. They have been alive since the ice age, their ancestors were much bigger and were found in England.
Birds of prey can kill small animals. Big birds of prey can even kill baby humans, but they can’t kill big animals, big children or grown-ups.
The Bateleur eagle has thick black feathers around its neck which it puffs out so if a snake strikes, it just gets a big mouthful of feathers. I also learnt that the Caracara was the cleverest at solving puzzles!
I like going to eagle heights there were lots of bird . we got to go in the park.there was a big bird what sat next to me. we saw snakes. we like going to eagle heights.we saw rats too. we loved it.
Owls fly silently so that their prey can’t hear them. When we went to Eagle Heights, the birds flew so close to us that we felt the wind from their wings.
