Help … My mind races nobody will find me up here! Think think, but I can’t. I’m lost in time up in space who knows what year it is 3070 maybe even 4010! I’m supposed to be in 2018 but know I’m in the zero gravity zone…. I know my fate and I can’t turn back.
Beeb Beeb. My helmet is running out of oxygen, my mind starts to spin, my eyes grow heavy and all I can see is smudged nothingness. No don’t let those eyes fall please just hold on heart I can’t die now not here at least……
At that moment I was plunged into the Mars atmosphere.I was weightless nothing could hold me down.I jumped then most miraculously I stayed in the oxygen free air. I felt lonely in the empty world .Remember what the instructors told you,”You only have 1hr in your space suit before oxygen runs out.”One hour .At the speed of a shooting star I looked at my wrist watch , one hour??? Only three minutes left ,panic filled my spacesuit.THREE minutes to get back to the space craft.I am never going to make it back.Goodbye zero gravity.Thank goodness it was only a video game.
Zero gravity. A comet sprinting above the world’s atmosphere, leaving a faint streak of light behind. Stars beaming in front of my eyes. It’s like the entire universe is at my fingertips. I observe the rings orbiting Saturn, captivated by it’s allure. And the gleaming Sun brighter than I’ve seen it look before. I take a look at all the planets, fascinated by the unique and diverse colours. I spot another comet, although I notice it’s heading straight to planet Earth. But it’s not a comet. It’s an huge asteroid. I try to inform my colleagues. But it’s to late.
The bullet drives itself through my . A flash blinds me, and I am plummeted into darkness. I can half see what’s going on around me, and I see James lying on the floor, a knife protruding from his neck. I wonder if he’s in the same trance as me. Then the darkness comes again. I can hear my mother’s voice. “She’s gone.” I try to respond, but my mouth is frozen stiff. Then suddenly, a star appears out of the darkness. James’s voice calls to me. I want to go there. And then, my body melts into zero gravity.
Suddenly pressure poured onto my back. My spine felt as if it was going to crack in half. I felt like I was going to faint…
The first thing I came to contact was the ceiling let’s just say it didn’t help the headache. When I looked around I was inside a spaceship and in a spacesuit. The next thing I knew I was being pushed out the space shuttle. I knew this was a one in a lifetime opportunity but I didn’t plan it to go like this. I can’t believe they would do something like this. TO ME!
Zero Gravity lifting me of in my suit. It feels weird like I am as light as a feather. Letting the breeze pull me and push me like I am a toy. I like being in space letting you jump so high from a craft that’s so hard. You cant do that where I come from, you cant float. You cant sleep in space without falling back down to earth. But soon I wont be here I will be hoping that nothing goes wrong when I mean nothing I men no dying. I will go know to my family happily.
I sat staring at the window beside me. I turned, not daring to look back at the horrors showcased behind the glass. I heard them shouting “3,2,1, blast off” then the rocket spiralling up into the above. This probably sounds like a load of gobbledygook; I’ll explain. Every year we all gather up at the town square, write our name and pass it on until it reaches, the ‘box’. A name will be picked., then the person goes up into the zero gravity zone; the chances are they won’t come back. Because no-one’s ever had. This year it’s my brother…
I went up five months ago, I made a tun of friends and everything was great until it happed, October 11th 2011 – The crRASH!!!
“Go Go Go Go!”Run!! …we have got to get out now!
“ But where are we going to go?
“Back
“BACK!!!!…where?
“EARTH!!!
“What are you CRAZY!!!
“Just Go Go Go!”
“Yes sir” I soluted….
I ran through the main corridoor to get to the shuttles, to my horror and disbelief, all the shuttles had GONE! And the space station has hurtling towards the moon.
Staring out into blackness…October 11th 2011 the day I died…..
Delusional thoughts scattered around my mind. Floating. No water no food just death staring me in the face. The blur was now in the distant past. Burning oil stained my soul, as memories continue to haunt me. I am trapped, we are going down. Nobody can save us now, I pray for my loved ones. The ones I will never see again. Burning balls of fire are inches away from colliding with this death trap. People say hell is not real; they have clearly never been to space. I have run out of time. My fate awaits. No. No. No.
Darkness. No floor. White speckles. No floor, no walls, no ceiling. A lonely darkness. I’m gradually waking up from something. Where am I? It’s as if there’s no gravity. Well, a very small gravitational pull because otherwise I wouldn’t be moving. But where could the gravitational pull be coming from? All I recall is a robotic voice reassuring me and being disoriented. Hang on, am I being pulled somewhere? I’m spinning. What is that? It looks like a planet, but that’s impossible because I’m in, I’m in space! I just realised. How did this happen? The ship exploded. How?…
I had always dreamed about coming up here. Where you never had your feet flat on the floor, where even food floated up into the atmosphere. Darkness falls through day and night. Millions of metres above the Earth. When I came out of my aircraft, I felt a weird floating sensation, like there was zero gravity. Looking up into inky black surroundings, I remembered all my childhood theories about the milky way, mars and other planets. Now I was here with my weighted lead boots bringing me down onto the moon itself, the first to reach the moon, Neil Armstrong.
