Your 100 Word Challenge this week is to write 100 words exactly (no more, no less) based on the prompt:
…Voice of the people…
The voice of the people matters!
If something is not right, you should listen. Even if it’s not a good idea you should still listen and comment on it. Whatever happens you should never be selfish even if you don’t agree with anything they say.
The voice of the people matters!
Always find time to see what can be improved, changed and remain the same. If you listen, they will too. If you want to be a good speaker listen to the public so you can be an even better speaker, but always remember…
The voice of the people matters!
The voice of the people claiming their right,
The voice of the people putting up a fight.
The voice of the people standing strong,
The voice of the people declaring it’s wrong.
The voice of the people stopping hunger,
The voice of the people ancient, young, younger.
The voice of the people by number ten
The voice of the people near Big Ben
The voice of the people, people like you,
The voice of the people honest and true.
They are fighting for you they are fighting for me,
They are fighting for justice and a right to be free.
“Order! Order!” called the judge, “We will now hand over the scene to the Jury!”
It was a summer morning and the sun shone forepeople to enjoy. Apart from Alex. Alex was locked up because he had murdered someone. The family of the murdered — or not murdered — child thought so anyway. Alex knew it wasn’t him.
“I’m not lying!” Alex shouted but it was no use. Nobody listened. Nobody was on his side. Nobody would help.
“The voice of the public, by which I mean the Jury, have decided whether Alex Watterson murdered David Schock,” the judge said 5 days after calling for the Jury to take the matter into their hands. “I, judge of Canterbury, announce Alex Watterson… Guilty!”
Democracy is a system that gives a voice to the people. It lets the public decide who will have a major part in deciding the laws of the country. Every five years anyone over 18 (apart from a few exceptions) will vote on which political party they think is the best.
The country is split up into 650 different constituencies, in each constituency the political party with the most amount of votes represents that constituency. If a single party gets over 326 constituencies their leader will become prime minister. If no single part does have, a coalition will be formed.
The Prime Minister stood, his arm raised in an ignored firm gesture for silence. Still, the dagger-like voices of the public rang like a dead bell filled with boiling acid, ricocheting off the walls which were caving in from the immense weight of the world on their shoulders. Insults were fired and unspeakably rude signs were jabbed. Exaggerating broadcasters littered the majestic hall like unwanted scum lurking on the street that nobody bothered to remove, for fear of getting dirty. The situation was getting worse. Much worse, and as the last drip fell, the dam burst.
“SILENCE”
It came. Deafening silence. Then a new wave approached, made of solid noise, which crushed democracy forevermore.
The voice of the people is a giant bear,
Growling through the vines
It is neither gas, fear or air
But oil and water combined
The voice of the people is a writhing snake
Always eating but never grown
Which only despair can create
And even the king cannot own
The voice of the people is a swarm of bees
That buzz and never rest
No single one holds the keys
Unison protects their nest
The voice of the people is a flying dove
Severed friendship, forgotten love
Anger, Tragedy
The blade of a knife
But mainly just stolen life
