This week’s 100 Word Challenge is inspired of course by yesterday’s General Election! We learnt a lot about the results in class – but it’s up to you how you interpret this prompt!
I can’t wait to read them all! Miss T x

The Votes Are In
I stood there, shaking with every other nervous person. The TV stood in front of us with the news on. Whoever gets chosen will lead my path to wherever it takes me. I hadn’t noticed but my legs were trembling with anxiety. Worries leapt upon me like a tiger pouncing on its prey. We stood still, not saying a word. This was it; a man came onto the screen and got a piece of paper from his pocket. He unfolded it, as he was doing so I stopped breathing.
“Our new prime minister is going to be . . .”
The suspense…!!!
Thursday, 8th June
I hope the Tories win, I feel I have made a mistake and we will not win. Mr. Corbyn is doing very well and I feel he may win. All the blame is on me, but it is not just me, it is my advisers.

It is a hung parliament. I feel so stupid and that I have indeed made a mistake. We did still win the most votes but not a majority. Very nervous to meet the queen but she is supposedly very nice. Hopefully we will form a sort of coalition thing with DUP.
Miss May.
The votes are in is it a majority or a tie.
Are the rumours true or are they lies.
The votes are in.
Did your party loose or did they win?
Who is out and who is in?
Teresa May or J Corbyn?
Who was lying or telling stories? I reckon mostly the Tories
Some found the voting booth, others found the exit.
But this all started with the mess of Brexit
It doesn’t feel like you’ve lost or won, because the parliament is hung.
Can we keep it all afloat? At least it activated the youth vote!
I was the last in the chain of runners. It was my job to carry the ballot box to our counting room. My job was the most important, (well sort of, it was a team effort really,) but if I failed I failed everyone. It was coming, only three people away now. I kept telling myself that it didn’t matter if I lost. There were hundreds of constituencies and it was the least important thing of election night, it would surely be forgotten. But here it came, my best friend Chloe wishing me luck as it did so. And then it was in my hands. I was running. I could feel my fear slipping away, and I sped up. But alas my laces were undone I fell to the ground, grazing my knee, I couldn’t get up. But ahead of me I saw the counting room and the box was sliding towards it. The ballot box passed the door and huge cheer went up, I had won, I had done it. The votes were in!
The votes are in,
Everyone’s shaking,
The final moment,
Holding our breath waiting.
The votes are in,
Still crossing our fingers,
A beat passed,
The moment lingers.
The votes are in,
Ready and counted,
Backing our leaders,
Not a second they were doubted.
The votes are in,
The Reds and The Blues,
Fighting until the bitter end,
Who’s going to loose.
The votes are in,
People are running to and fro,
Who’s going to claim it,
Nobody really knows.
The votes are in,
The election over,
Although there’s always a chance,
For another one in October!
The votes are in.
“it was a hung parliament ” said my dad …. it might of been because I was half asleep but I had no idea what he was on about. I went down to breakfast my brother was sitting there back hunched over eating his cereal talking to dad about he elections “I don’t get it ” I said ” what is a hung parliament ” my brother replied “it’s basically where none of the party’s got the majority vote ” he said more but I can’t be bothered to say everything he said . Sorry for not a particularly interesting one I didn’t know what to write 😉
The votes are in. Everyone is excited. Staying up late, with anticipation. Blue, red, green, orange, all fighting for a seat in the House of Commons. Britain is their battle field, the MPs are their soldiers and the votes are their weapons. Who will it be taking the lead? It’s up to us to decide. The polls have been counted. But who knows what the final result will be? Conservatives have won the last one… but this year it might be different. This year another party might take the lead. The last results are in and the winner is…Nobody?
