Your 100 Word Challenge this week is to write 100 words – no more, no less – based on the prompt – The Reflection…
I was so impressed with your visualisation and accuracy in geometry this week! Mirror, mirror on the wall…how will you interpret the latest prompt of all?!
I can’t wait to read them!

REFLECTION
Once upon a time, there was a girl called Daisy. She hated everything she saw, she always thought they didn’t look as pretty as her, but she had no idea what was going to hit her.
Daisy was going out one day when she suddenly stopped two boys looking at her. “Go away you ugly people and don’t look at me, I’m way out of your league, no ones in my league except me”. She went over to the lake to wash her hair, but stopped at a beautiful creature.
Ever since she saw her reflection she hasn’t move.
I slowly stepped into the damp misty cave cautious of my surroundings. I walked on waiting waiting for something, I didn’t know what but I knew their was something waiting to be found waiting waiting , so I carried on walking until I came up to a side path which lead to light , but something told me to carry on walking, so I did I walked for hours until I couldn’t walk any more and then I looked up and their it was I sprinted over to it pushing my legs to the limit it was it was my reflection my reflection.
Reflection
We live in a land of reflection.
It is all around us.
You cannot stop reflection.
It goes its own way.
You see it in mirrors.
You see it in water.
You see it in minds.
It goes its own way.
Reflection bounces all around.
Reflection shows yourself yourself.
We live off our reflection.
It goes its own way.
We see reflection in light.
It bounces off anything shiny smooth.
It curves around curves and edges.
It goes its own way.
Nobody causes it.
Not in any way.
It’s totally unstoppable the way things reflect.
In no way controllable.
Once in ancient Greece there was an evil monster called Medusa. She could turn anyone to stone just by looking at them . But in the kingdom below there was a brave man who decided he would try to kill Medusa, his name was Perseus. It took him a whole day to climb up the mountain . When he got to the top a hissing noise said, “I have been waiting for you”. He took out the shield and used its reflection to see her. Then sssss went the snakes then a nearby tree turned to stone. His sword went threw her head, she was dead
The Reflection
It was unusually sunny this morning. There was not a single cloud in the sky. I walked to the lake beside my house when a flock of swans swam by. As I sat down on the dock, I watched their reflection glimmer in the stone still water. Sea Gulls perched on the thin branches, watching me closely for food. All I had was a sandwich to eat but I never eat the crust.
My feet touched the water, making my mirror image go blurry. I thought to myself, why do i have a reflection and how does it happen?
Suddenly I see something it mirrors me and I just can’t understand why. I move to the left and then to the right its copying me. Stop I shout, stop it shouts back at me. I jump in the air and it dose the same. I leave and it leaves I play whith my toy and guess what it does. I’m so confused I walk of on my way I meet another strange version of myself. It seems I just can’t get away from my me in this huge house. I have now been watching my silly cat for 30 minutes.
One time Bob and Brenda went fishing together, but they were faced with an impossible task…
Bob and Brenda had a friend called Billy. Billy however, could not fish; he always broke the fishing poles. When Bob and Brenda got angry, Billy called them ugly, and himself, beautiful. He was the bridge guard-to make sure no children crossed the bridge. So when Bob and Brenda wanted to cross, Billy didn’t let them…
To let them cross, Bob and Brenda had to prove to Billy, that he was ugly.
They said to him, “Look at yourself in the water”…
THE END
Reflection
The first time I saw a reflection was when I was five and went to the sea in Cornwall, I thought I saw a ‘pair’ of geese swimming in exact formation. First I did not believe it so I asked my mother about it. She said it is a reflection but I did not know what it was so one day later I said to my sister where do you see reflections? She replied “Silly don’t you look in the mirror? It is your reflection that you see.”
And that is when I learnt that reflections are mirror images.
Still waters, a puddle or a glassy pond
a looking glass, an eye, a picture frame
a lightbulb, a glass of water on a bedside table,
a shop window, the side of a car,
the steel on the oven door, metal hinges on a cupboard,
the fridge, a computer screen, an ornament on a mantelpiece,
a window pane, sunglasses, a mirror
and even a little glint reflecting from an earring.
Bouncing light, reflections.
Of anything, off everything.
Of me, a dog, a tree, a passer-by, dust in the sunlight.
How the shapes change.
Upside-down, mirrored, symmetrical, wonky.
Light plays, giving moments, surprises, magic.
