We have just read the most exciting chapter of our book so far… Noor has been captured by the Gestapo after a French informant turned her in.
Can you write a descriptive narrative about her journey from her flat to wherever they are taking her – remember that no one hurt her as she ‘gave them no reason to’. Describe how she would feel, what she could see (if anything) what she could hear, smell etc.
Noor-un-Nissa Inayat Khan
Captured
As the Gestapo dragged Noor away from her apartment, the Frenchman waved bye to her a slick smile on his face before slipping out the back exit. Noor’s suspicions were immediately raised but saw no point in causing a scene. She barely noticed that she was letting the enemy capture her for she was too busy worrying about Amma. She had promised her that she would be safe and what about the S.O.E agents. Only days ago, had she said that she could do this and now she had been turned in! What could she do?
My heart was thumping as the German Gestapo police took me away into the rusty baker’s van. I didn’t want to go in but I thought that I give some fake information to the Nazis. I couldn’t concentrate with my sack on my head My skin was extremely itchy – I imagine the Nazis used old potato sacks. I fell asleep thinking what will happen in the future.
I woke up by the coughing of someone coughing. Through a small gap through the sack IU saw there were many people. I saw the yellow star ofDavid What can I do now?
