This week’s prompt is inspired by World Book Day! You could write about what it feels like when you’re totally absorbed by a book…from the perspective of a character you love…a mystery tale about being sucked into a book…whatever inspires you!

Were am I or who am I. All I remember is that I went past this. This .this fog then poof everything is gone and now I am falling through some hurricane. I see animals, Yoda and now the BFG my own book? I think I am going through the path to book heaven were you can see future world book days sweet. I wonder what its going to be like I heard you can create anything there like if I wrote train there will be a train installed back on earth. Mr Roald Dahl this is your stop.
Huh, what’s going on. I see characters floating around me anyway there’s 88 more words to explain. It is awesome being with my favourite characters but I want to go home:(. A giant monster came over.Thousands on pages flickered over me crushing me and my new friends. All of the characters cramped into a paper sandwich everyone was angry but no-one could do anything because the monster was bigger and tougher than them, but people got mad at eachother and started beating little guys up. Save me now!
Pages dance around aching my fingertips as the fantasy world
hooks my mind. Skimming each page to find out what will happen next, falling in love with the characters. Lost in the world of unknown. Imagining all of the wild possibilities within the pages. Thoughts come and go but they don’t matter to me. The feeling of being undisturbed so engrossed fills me with deep joy. But no, I am coming to the end of my wonderful journey how will it end? Will there be a second? or will I have had the time of my life never to ruturn.
Suddenly I was lost in a book, falling through the pages, all alone in a crowd of people, stomach fliping as I swam through the book.BANG! I was squashed under a blue bean bag, my homework book gently sliding of my head, my room a hot mess.AAAHHHH!
*3 DAYS LATER*
I was soaring over Bookfield lake, Peter Rabbit was liking my feet and Rapunzel was brushing my scruffy hair into a plait, a little bird even sat on my shoulder.BOOM! Miss Lompson’s book sat under my nose, her tiny eyes were glued to my face,”3 x 7=333331?” Was all I could say back.
“Book worm, Book worm” They jeered. I ignored them and lent my head closer to the dog-eared pages of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. “All you do is read. All day long got your clumsy eyes fixed on those scruffy second-hand pages of books.” That’s the dumbest boy in our year, he can hardly add 18 and 10. I had had enough and clumsily stood up knocking over my bag the comments that followed confirmed my decision to bunk of school tomorrow. I had just established their theory. I was very clumsy but incredibly smart but not well off.
I flicked through the pages of my favourite book, The Hunger Games. I thought it would calm me, but it only made things worse. As I turned page 84, I saw her. Banging on the paper, as if she was trapped. But there weren’t supposed to be any pictures in this book. Instead of her tiedye t-shirt she always wore, she was wearing the mockingjay suit, her hair tied in a braid down her back. “May?” I hadn’t seen her for weeks. She nodded, still banging on the page. Her fist tore through, grabbed me, pulled me into the pages.
Have you ever thought of being a character in a book?
To have limitless abilities, and never endure the gruelling life ahead of you?
Curious may be tempting, but are you willing to face the consequences?
“I wish I was in a book!” said Jamie. “Maybe if you clap three times it’ll happen!” said Zack, Jamie’s older brother, in a mocking, sarcastic voice. Jamie closed his eyes. When he opened them, he found himself in a dark place. Jamie instantly knew this was the Angel Slayer’s lair, the villain in his book. He then heard a deep voice bellow, “BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!”
Never read this story alone. If you do, you may find yourself lost in this book…
I told you not to read this! Why are you still reading?! Stop! STOP!
Oh no. You kept reading. Now you’re falling through the endless pages. Don’t read the words, or you’ll be stuck here for eternity. i told you to stop reading! STOP! NOW! There’s only 37 words left, if you stop now you’ll be fine. But if you read to the very last word…. why are you still reading anyway? You’re deciding your own fate as you read through these words. Goodbye.
