“And you’re on… NOW” I sat on one of the crisp white chairs, the Royal blue cushions perfectly placed. “So tell me Miss Middleon, is it true that you were one of the only victims who survived the stabbing?”I froze remembering the day. The cameras were flashing at me when it happened and I was strangely uncomfterable, I knew something was off. “Yes.Yes it is true.” “And could you tell the audience a little more?” “Well I can tell you it was a shock, but, the murderer was familiar, she had the same empty face as my mentally disturbed sister”…
Adrenaline rushed through my blood, pushing one thought into my mind. What if I mess up? The poloneck dress I was wearing tickled my neck annoyingly. I pulled it down, but it was quickly put back in the uncomfortable position by my stylist. I smiled nervously at her, wich was respnded to by a thumbs up. As she left, I mouthed the words to my song. 20 seconds later I was dragged onto the stage by a bulky man wearing a scowl. I picked up the microphone. Millions of eyes stuck to my face. I sang. And dropped the microphone.
I lay on the platform, my eyes tight shut. The lights immediately blazed down on me I did a bad thing… I have to run! The police would surely see me on live television I only have 63 words left to explain so here we go. I had to come to this studio to hide… I have committed a crime a very horrible crime. Really I……I didn’t mean to it you know just happened. The knife just…..just well it’s to hard to say but what I can say is that it was a bad mistake I need to RUN!!!!
“We’re live in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1,” This was it; this was my chance to shine. My life flashed before my eyes reliving those dreams of seeing my name in lights. My heart began to thump against my chest like a like a bullet entering my skin. Stay calm you can do this. I said to myself. I was blinded by the led lights dancing around the stage. The camera crew stood there waiting for their cue before a man nodded at me when music blasted out colossal speakers. Then, I didn’t feel nervous any more. Light, camera action!
Lights camera action! It was all going on as year six finally arrived at the X factor studios in the middle of nowhere. The exited buzz drifted around the room as the cables tripped up everyone as they passed. Then they were given a tour by the producer (Mark) and learnt loads of cool facts about the behind the scenes of a TV show. Throughout the trip lots of EP manifestos were waved in the faces of crowded contestants. It was now time to go up on stage for their picture, the X closed behind them. Flash. It was over.
And I was on, the camera was on me a dreneline pumping through my sparking body the tight skirt clinging to my thin waist I was here singing live on britans got talent, this was it, my chance to shine my hairdresser in the wings smiling encouragingly . Suddenly the words of the song poured out better than ever before the lyrics at one meant so much more than ever before. I finished the song raising my arms up high and posing whilst the cameras flashed I am Rai Elle Williams and I have just no, no way the golden buzzer.Wow. ????
I sat there, thinking to myself, what was taking them so long to call me in? I could hear muffled voices coming from the main building. Being one of the X Factor contestants, I thought everything had to be brief, something like two minutes, not one hour. The voices suddenly went quiet. Did something happen? Maybe I should go check it out. Getting up, I heard a ping. My phone. Its probably nothing. Opening the door to the main building, a sign came into view. I couldn’t make out what it said at first… So literally everyone had gone to lunch
“Next, number 412, Grace Lords.” Before me, many tear stained faces had come out of the audition room. I took a deep breath, and headed in. The lights burned my sensitive eyes. “So, Grace, what monologue have you prepared for us?”
“Um… Talulah from ‘Jodie at the Hotel.’” I heard a trembling voice reply. “Life isn’t easy in Louisiana, Jodie. I’m a receptionist, so I hear all the complaints. Like one day, Mrs. Morrison said that she hated her respected job and that… um… she wanted to leave to go to… er…”
“Thank you Grace, we have seen enough.”
I was on so soon, my opportunity to show what I could do after preparing for so long. Could it all be wasted? Or was this only the beginning? Somehow I made it up onto that threatening stage, the rows of seats cascaded towards me shadowing my tiny figure. Swirling lights hit me like gunshots plunged into my heart as whistles pierced the air, my slim velvety skirt digging in. The rotating bulb above my head displayed my name proud and clear, my friends cheering me on from the green room above. Stepping backwards towards the wires I toppled over…
all right this probably isn’t the ideal ‘Lights camera action’ but ..it is one of a kind. so lets get started shall we, so the anatomy of a… lights camera action. it all began here at this bank, oh robbery.. what a fun job, some day soon my name will be on those wanted posters you get. “come here my friend”.who said that? “oh don’t be alarmed”. Lights camera action. “ha ha ha you thought that would stop me”. no no no. Lights camera action, its gone. “so are you” . what ahhhhhh.
