Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist. He was born on the 16th of December 1866 in Moscow. In 1896, Wassily moved to Munich to study fine arts where he discovered his passion for abstracts. He returned to Moscow in 1914, after the outbreak of WWI. Kandinsky had a love for art so strong that he believed it as a form of worship.
During his lifetime, Kandinsky has painted 227 artworks, his best sold for over $20 million. Just before he died, the Nazis confiscated his artworks, put them on display in 1937 before destroying them.
