“Mum, I’m gonna go outside!”
“We’re snowed in, you can’t!”
It is Sunday morning and I have never been so bored in my life. I know Mum said we are snowed in but I’m gonna try anyway. I walk up to the front door and try the handle. Jammed. Then I think, why not use force? So I bang the door. “Calm down Anna!” Shouts Mum from upstairs. But I’m not listening because I’m scared out of my wits. Did someone bang back? I try again, hitting the door louder, twice. Listen. Then, “BANG BANG”. Someone’s on the other side.
Hiking on the mountains took guts, but hiking on a mountain in the the middle of a blizzard over a massive hole takes a mad man!…. December 2025 the blizzard,
Carl, Leon and I, were in our tents, when everyone started shouting” RUUNNNNNN! we have to get out of the avalanches path” !!!!
Everyone got out, but for us three, it was a different story.
One week later we woke up in a mountainside village, they told us how they had found us and sadly saw are other mountaineers friends get swallowed up by snow…15 went only three came back!!!!
“Guys is it just me or is this house huge AND boring.” Tess ranted.
“Oh give it a break T; Let us enjoy our self’s.” T really can be a twit at times. I glanced over at Sooke, my sister, “What do you want to do Sook?”
“Hide and seek!” She beamed
“Whatever you want” Peter shrugged.
I shut my eyes as the footsteps stopped pattering throughout the house. Suddenly, there was silence. I rushed down the stairs and jumped into the snow. There was Peter, “Come on”. We found Tess next. But where Sooke was, we still don’t know.
Woosh the cold air of the snowy day circling me like pack of wolves pretty hungry one if you ask me. The snow tripping me to my knees instantly freezing if frostbites are worse than this then I can’t then imagine what its like. I feel like someone is following me… swoosh something went past me and another I started to run I doged a tree and then I knew what it was… it was a snowball.
I saw my golden opportunity, time for revenge, time to show her who was boss. She didn’t even see it coming. The snow was new and crisp it was knee deep ;just begging to be used. Then she broke the silence with a text:
*Hi*
*hi*
*Do you wanna meet soon??*
*Yeah,the Heath,5:30pm(sharp)*
*end of text*
When I met her I could not see her face, she wore a black muffler a thrill filled my heart as I did the deed. The horror awaited me when I got home
*Hi,sorry I could not come*
*Are you ok?*
*bye?*
I had buried the wrong person, who had I buried alive?
Hurry hurry mama look how heavy it is. Finally it actually IS snowing I’m going to be the first girl to ever dive in to snow and swim as deep as the Eiffel Tower “alright darling you go do that. be careful sweetie” ok ok Mum I will. Wait aren’t you and daddy coming too? “No honey me and your father have some sorting out to do. Okay?” Yes Mum. What on earth are they talking about it’s actually snowing who do they think they are missing out on this. I need to go and see what they are talking about. “So how many days should she spend with you”
“Ehhh. I dunno”
“What, you don’t know she is our daughter not just mine ,but yours as well.
My coat clutched in my hand and my scarf tied round my neck, I slipped on my shoes and ran to the door. It never snows where we live. It rains CATS AND DOGS but it never, ever, ever snows. So when I got all excited about playing in the snow and the door didn’t open, I was FURIOUS. Pushing. Shoving. Kicking. Anything to get out there, but the deep snow pushed back.
On the day with no school and no rules, that damn door wouldn’t open. As a blanket of snow lies untouched in my garden, I silently scream.
I can’t believe she’s dead. And I can’t believe I killed her. It wasn’t my fault…
Father called it the Midas touch. I wanted to go and hug him, but I couldn’t. He would’ve turned to snow. One morning, Father was getting some orange juice, and as he reached for a glass, he brushed my arm. Frozen. Gone. Dead.
Then this morning, Mother was looking through some old photos. I snuggled up next to her, as I normal child would do. She flicked the page. The last thing she would do. What’s wrong with me? Frozen. Gone. Dead. MY FAULT.
