We kick off Year 6 with our very first 100 Word Challenge! Your task? To write 100 words (no more, no less!) inspired by the prompt of the week. This week’s prompt is inspired by our new topic – Human Planet, but you can interpret the prompt as you wish! We already had some very creative suggestions in class so I can’t wait to read your contributions!
Around The World
In my short life time I have travelled around the world quite a lot. In Europe I have travelled to France, Spain, Italy, Malta and Belgium. I have also travelled further than Europe like Sri-Lanka and India. In our winter I will be going to South Africa because my mum is working there and it is going to be their Summer. So I will have two summers. In South Africa my family and I are going to go on a safari, and we will see lots of animals. I am most looking forward to seeing the Monkeys.
In England we have a lot of rain
Sometimes it’s a pain
I know I’d rather be in Spain
I wonder what’s around the world
In Spain it’s mostly very hot
In fact it’s very hot a lot
But I want to know what Germany’s got
I wonder what’s around the world
In Germany live Pomeranians
So many its quite insanian
But what’s life like for an Americanian
I wonder what’s around the world
America’s pancakes are quite well known
With maple syrup not on their own
In fact I’d rather stay at home
Who cares what’s around the world
My Holiday
Me and my family went to Italy for two weeks, we spent the first week in Venice wear we visited lots of old historic churches. Venice is made up of lots of little islands which you travel between on a water bus, once on a water bus an ocean cruise liner being pulled into the cruise harbour by two tugs. On our second week we went to a tennis camp near the German border meaning nearly all the families were from Germany. Table tennis and tennis were easily the most popular activities; swimming was also very popular at the hotel.
The Human Planet
Everyone sees animals, surviving in the hardest of conditions and hunting for food which is scarce, on documentaries or David Attenborough programs. But no one sees humans surviving in those conditions because there just aren’t many programs about it. And is where the Human Planet kicks in.
The show where you see children walking across ropes to get to school, people walking miles and miles just to get some water and early mornings treks to rescue a pregnant camel from wolves, is enough in itself to make you gasp. Watch the rest of the series on YouTube!
Once there was a boy who dreamed of traveling the world he had globes and maps scattered round the room . When he grew up he decided to travel . He went far and wide Africa, America, Australia ,Japan and many more he came across beautiful places and delicious food. But then something terrible happened he was on the plane back to England and there was a plane crass blood ,wreckeg and flames he ran out the plane and was stranded in the jungle . Yet it wasn’t all bad he made clothing out of leaves and he swam in the rivers and played with elephants and monkeys. . Without a phone a family a friend because he had the jungle.
Good comment . Human planet is very interesting
the world is a giant ball of life, a green and blue swirl of vitality in a universe of the unknown. Every single country has its own colourful and brilliant culture, full of surprises and stories just waiting to be told.
If the Earth could talk we would know so much about wars, dinosaurs and how we came to be, more about our cultures history.
If you go around the world you will see so many beautiful things, learn so many mind blowing facts and eat so much wonderful food that when you come back, you will be a changed person.
Around the World
Around the world, around the world,
There’s many places to see!
From skyscrapers, to ice-cold igloos,
You don’t know where to be!
Around the world, around the world,
There’s lots of new people to meet!
From kind ones to bossy ones,
You don’t know who you’ll greet!
Around the world, around the world,
There’s loads of food to eat!
From delicious pastas to spicy chicken,
Where should you book a seat?
Around the world, around the world,
Wherever you may be,
There’s something new for everyone,
Just open your eyes and see!

For my holiday I went to Venice, It was really fun and exciting because instead of buses and cars there were boats. We went to some great restaurants, I had spaghetti bolognaise nearly every day for diner. I was in heaven! One of my favourite bits was the ice cream; they were so yummy and creamy. We found it amusing because all the gondoliers were wearing black and white or red and white stripped tops and they were all on their phones! I also really enjoyed the beach in Lido because the water was really warm, so was the sand!!!
THE WORLD OF A CAT!
My world is a small one. At the core of it is my human. My kind and loving human. She protects me from catnappers and other dangers. I absolutely adore her. She is my purpose for living.
My world consists of my road, its gardens, the gardens opposite, my human’s school, the tube station and my house. I plan to expand it someday soon. Oh, and add the Vets to that list (dun-dun-dun!). I travel it daily. Here’s a poem I wrote:
I’m a cat meow check meowt
Meow meow meow meow check me out!
Like it? Good.
Bonjour, Hola
and hello
I’m here to say things
you may not know
Seven continents
Seven seas
plenty hot
and plenty breeze
Some have water
some have snow
some are left
for us to know
Some have sun
and some have hail
but that doesn’t mean
you have to bail
You may like it
you may not
even if it’s always rain
or always hot
Some have pizza
some have tea
some have bread
and some have peas
Every country
big or small
is unique
like us all
Au revoir, farewell
and ciao
I must be gone
but please don’t bow!
It is wonderful to think of how many different kinds of landscape there are in the world. For example we have tropical rainforest, arid desert, grass savannah and tundra. These places are also known as “biomes.” A biome is a formation of plants and animals that have common characteristics due to similar climates. So you will find tropical rainforest in South America but you can also find it in Africa. You find arid desert in the Sahara but also in the United States. The tundra is a strip of land running around most of the northern hemisphere with frozen subsoil.
Around the World
Hi, I’m Bob, the balloon. I’ve traveled around the known world and back again. I’ve been to the furthest reaches of Camden, and I’m currently exploring the depths of the home zone. I am one of those high quality balloons, the ones that stay up for a reeeeeeaaaaaalllllly long time, so I’ve seen quite a lot of amazing and beautiful things in my life, like Waterloo station and the South Bank center, but I think my adventures are coming to an end, and I want to be remembered. These are my memories, take good care with them.
Around the world
There are lots of places I have been to. For example, I loved India and Spain. I loved Shetland and Devon. I love the sea and going surfing. And eating ice cream in Spain. In India I so enjoyed trying and eating exotic foods. In London, I like all the shops, and seeing all my friends at EP, but I’ve never been to America or Africa. I bet it is nice though! Finally, I like going camping in Devon, roasting marshmallows every night. I often see Izzy there and we have a great time.
Yaqub packed his bags and was getting ready to embark on the most unique adventure. He decided to travel to Asia in order to experience life to the fullest. Yaqub started with Pakistan, his motherland, as he has never been there before. Then came the famous Mumbai in India and soon he traveled to Malaysia hoping to see some of the natural beauties it holds. Next was Tokyo where he indulged in some of the most delicious food he ever tasted. What he realized was that the world is beautiful place once you open your eyes and not the camera.
I went to Spain,
It wasn’t lame,
But my flight was a pain,
Have you been around the world?
I went to France,
I booked in advance,
I had a good dance,
Have you been around the world?
I went to Watford in England,
Newcastle, London and Sunderland,
But I have not yet been to Ireland,
Have you been around the world?
Japan speak Japanese,
China speak Chinese,
Wait where are my knees,
Have you been around the world?
I have not been to Germany,
Do they sing badly in Germany,
I sing in harmony,
I’d just stay in England.
Alligators of Florida
Every one male alligator fertilises at least five female alligators. The females proceed to, on the river (or lake) – bank, lay around twenty-five eggs in layers of five. She puts a dirt and grass covering on each layer and creates a cocoon. Only around one or two survive. Some would not hatch, some weren’t fertilised, some would’ve been eaten but the one or two that get to safety in the river go on to start the cycle again. After seeing the alligators, we went to the café to get something to eat. A popular thing on the menu? Alligator soup.
Hello and welcome to the return of football. Alex Hunter the tricky midfielder starts instead of William. He will be making his second appearance and hopefully scoring some goals. Conte has this to say,
“He is a talented player and will grow over the years. He has a big future in front of him.”
And were live!! It’s the 20-minute and Hunter has the ball, he cuts in oh that was amazing. Gets past one and now two only the goal keeper left and what’s he going to do now its an around the world and a goallllllllllllllllllllll. Alex hunter.
