Imagine that you had just been elected as Prime Minister. What would be the first laws you would pass and why? What would you change?
Would you…
Lower the voting age?
Increase the length of the school day?!
Ban anything?
Make something compulsory?
Let’s get creative and come up with some innovative new laws!
Chocolate cake is healthy, all schools must have chocolate cake on the dessert menu at least twice a week.
(no reason for this law)
Voting age is now 16
16 year olds are old enough to make decisions about who they want to speak for them.
School days now start at 10am and finish at 3.30pm.
It would relieve parents of having to get their children to school by 9am.
Extra funding for the NHS
Although today we don’t realise it, the NHS provides a vital part of our economy. We need free healthcare for those who need it.
Wealthy people should pay the same rates as poorer people.
It’s unfair that wealthy individuals should be able to pay lower rates on income.
I would increases the minimum wage from £6.50 to £8.50 and change the sports curriculum so it included badminton and ping pong!
I would change the science curriculum so that you could do chemistry before you left primary school and make sure that university prices go down.
Ummm… I agree with all comments above!!! 🙂
I would make sure that all One Direction fans got tickets to all of their concerts! 🙂 And that everyone in our country had a house to live in for safety. I also think that I would make every child 5 – 6 and above in the UK able to read by the end of 2015! 😀
I agree. Some universities cost £10,000!
I think children should be allowed to leave the school grounds during playtime if they are in Year 6 but they should have a limit of where they can go up to! I also think the voting age should be lowered to 16!
I would stop people from smoking in public and I would build lots of houses around the world for homeless people.
Yeah I would raise the minimum wage too, it’s a really good idea Olly. Also I would put Climbing and Boxing into the curriculum, though the latter maybe in late primary or early secondary school.
I believe that people that have given up on their house and just bought another one without selling the first should have the first taken away and renovated (only if the house needs work) and given to those who need them. On the other hand, the responsibility of being Prime Minister means that you must always be pessimistic about every choice you make (if you wish to be a successful one) and the downside of my adventurous notion is that it could cost the government an overwhelming amount of money.
If I were Prime Minister, I would help make more homes for homeless people and try to make other’s lives better. I would try to ban smoking and make the environment clean and fresh. I would try my best to cure others with all the medicine we can find to help the unfortunate. I would also make all supermarket food be at least £3.00 for more expensive foods. I would make sure all animals stay in good health and live strong. That’s what I would do…
