In Year 1, we have been inspired by our history-led topic this term on Changemakers Through Time. We loved learning about historical figures from Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole and Alexander Graham Bell, to more modern changemakers like Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousefzai and Marcus Rashford.

Greta Thunberg’s activism around climate change really resonated with Year 1. We decided to use our voices and make a stand! We created protest signs using bossy / imperative verbs which we learnt about in our English lessons and went on a protest around our school and our local area!
