We had a wonderful trip to St Paul’s Cathedral to learn about the Great Fire of London and all about how the building today is actually the 5th St. Paul’s! Destroyed by fire 4 times it was rebuilt from the ashes, just like the Phoenix Sir Christopher Wren had carved into the front.
Unable to climb up to the dome we made the most of being in London and headed to the Thames to see the river view. We saw the Globe, the Tate Modern, the Shard and Tower Bridge….the site seeing wasn’t over as on the coach trip back we were treated to a tour of London from the Tower of London all the way to the London Eye!
It was fantastic to be in the city and to see the real landmarks of London we have been learning about at school.
We can’t wait to write all about it in our learning back in class!
