To celebrate the arrival of our new class pet, we have been learning the Nursery Rhyme Slowly, Slowly, Quickly, Quickly about a little snail. We have loved taking care of our new pet feeding it fresh vegetables and making sure it has plenty of water. We all came up with names and voted between Shelly or Slug the winning name was Slug the snail! We’ve had a busy snail themed week; we looked at Henri Matisse’s The Snail and created our own versions, we’ve taken part in some snail themed maths and written our own snail leaflets based on all the facts we have learnt this week.
